Just wanted to create a thread dedicated to the skills of vespaz.. He made an incredible picture of what he imagines Tali would look like maskless.

I'm sure most of you have seen it already, at least the ones hanging around in the  Tali thread, but it goes by a bit too quickly imo and I figured this thread might progress in a more humane speed.

Anyways.. here's the pic:

So mate, what'd you use to make it?

Do you have have any more pictures laying around you might want to share? Not just about Tali but just any pics in general.

Anyway.. great work :)

People tend to forget that Tali's VISOR is purple. Not her.
If you did Tali's loyalty mission, if her skin color was purple, then by that logic, the male Quarians have pitch-black charcoal skin.

This pic makes sense, with her skin being pale from not being hit by sunlight, her veins showing a lot and that bit of machinery infused.

I'd have to agree with some of the other comments that it's "too human".  But, I cant imagine Tali looking like anything else.  She has two eyes and a nose.  The only thing we cant really make out is her mouth. And I'd rather not see her as some predator look-alike.

Asari look exactly like human females (don't even bring up the Ilium bachelor party...you know that was a joke) aside for their skin color and squid scalp and no one complains.

I complain about that all the time. That so many people find the asari beautiful and sexy is utterly mystifying to me.

Quarians have inverted leg joints, three digited hands and feet, wasp waistline, glowing eyes and enlongated necks but if they had a human like face people would freak?

SERIOUSLY??

If I could five-star you I would. Hehe.

Great work, beautiful, wide-set eyes and straight nose as suggested by what's visible through her visor, with the right slant to the eyes.

Still a little too human IMO but that takes nothing from the art itself.Image IPB

I would argue that a person forced to spend most of her time in an enviro suit would keep any hair shorne close to his/her scalp. The implants are a nice touch. Skin pigmentation should be light, assuming other species also use some darker pigmentation (like melanin) to protect themselves from solar radiation (i.e. if other species "tan" when exposed to the sun).

I thought the Matrix (first movie) gave a good idea of what humans or quarians would look like coming out of a sunless environment, with implant sockets and all.

Lovely graphics, not a good interpretation.

Then the Bioware team drops a bomb on us and makes Tali look like a giant turkey and those eyes we've been seeing were actually nostrils.

I tend to think "Qarian" is too close to "Aquarian" for comfort, which would lead to "Aquatic" which leads to "Fish-face".

Therefore, the picture should be less human and possibly have gills.

Before the Tali lovers flame me, I should state that I am not being completely serious.

That won't save you from having your heart cut out as you are slain upon the sacrificial alter to of Tali'Zorah.

I don't like the artist's vision of Tali at all - she's basically human there - but it's a great piece of art anyway.

Quarian comes from (most likely) "quarantine" - confinement of their suits.

That's so obvious in retrospect but it never occured to me before.

I like that pic much. very well done. I don't think that is Tali though-too human.

Tali will probably have whitish to greyish skin. Short to no hair. huge eyes (pupils or no pupils), a more pronounced nose (she even says that olfactory area spread plant spores) with a thinner chin.

Also longer set back calves.

I never really imagined her ears.

Too human, but very good technique :)

I think quarians are space yuan-ti (snake people). What little can be seen through their visors suggests elongated face shape and narrow, slanted eyes. Grunt says they're not as soft as humans, asari and salarians, so they probably have scales. Also, the glow of their eyes suggests bioluminescence or implants...but they are confirmed by the Codex and by Harbinger to be cybernetically augmented, so I'd say implants.

I like this interpretation, minus the head tentacles because they couldn't fit inside the helmets (and not necessarily purple...maybe an albino-python type coloration would be cooler):

It's a decent enough piece of art. Debate over whether or not it looks anything like a Quarian is pointless, since nobody can really say for sure, so I'll skip over that. I will say that the head seems too small, though. I don't see why the mouth would be located so far above the respirator/flashy-talky part of the mask.

To borrow use of your words a little.

Too Asari, but very good technique.

Of course this is a matter of opinion. I don't see why her face should remain hidden to those who romanced her. It's not as if the opacity of her face mask defines her.

My opinion is better.

...

Idiots who can't be bothered to let their imagination fill in the blanks are ruining fiction. I hate them, all of them. For god's sake I think children might be onto to something. Let your imagination take over every once in a while, stop asking to be fed everything. In the end you'll realize it is more satisfying. Once you 'know' everything there is no room left to project your own interpretations.

We aren't writing a novel here. And Tali's face is an extremely minor thing. I think you're overexaggerating the significance of revealing her face or keeping it secret. It isn't nearly as important as the reader's interpretation of the ending of 1984 or the Giver. Was he shot or finally descended into mindless adherence to the party?

That's FAR more important than the appearance of someone's face. Imagination is hardly intellectual here. You can imagine the Reaper's motivation, but that is much more intellectual than imagining someone's face.

At first I didn't so much like the picture the OP's posted here, but it's started to grow on me. I think that no matter how they make Tali's face (if they show it at all), my first reaction won't matter too much, as eventually I'll like it, since it's Tali we're talking about here. :D

I like the OP picture, it's very well done. She is a little too human (skin-wise), but I imagine her facial structure to be somewhat like that. I found this picture of a Quarian skeleton (found on the side mission of the Quarian crash site) and it looks almost exactly like a human's except for the hands and feet. Although her head is a little small for the mask and she looks too young for 24. She is an alien though, so I can't really say that Quarians don't look young at that age.

Wow, good find. :D  That looks extremely human like.  I can find little difference in facial structure, but who can say what is on the outside of the skull?

It's the principal of the matter. I like mystery and if her face is shown I'm deprived of the ability to imagine it. The fact is if her face is shown some people might be happy with it but I imagine a lot more won't be. At the end of the day we don't know what her face looks like but for the most part people are happy with her as she is. So I say leave it be.

I know it might seem arrogant to say "my opinion is better" but I think any objective analysis of my person in comparison to rest of the human race will determine that I am in fact more more intelligent and possess greater moral integrity  than my peers.
