The system requirements say that a single core will work. Is this correct? Originally the requirements posted were dual core or higher.

For a P4, it needs to be 3.0 GHz (2.8 for a P4-D). For AMD, any A64 at all, including the 2800. Not a Sempron, at least not that slow of one (I haven't kept up with where Sempron64s fit in) and not a Celeron. There have been reports that high end K7s (AMD Barton XPs) will work also, and I will test an XP 3000 eventually, myself . .
There is a variety of Intel CPU that ought to be named "Celeron Dual" instead of "Pentium Dual" that doesn't fit into the official brackets. It's a Core Duo Dual, but with most of the cache RAM stripped out, so it's not a "real" C2D -- for those, I think a minimum core speed of 2.0 GHz is about right.
