Depends on the costume. What did you have in mind?
Ninja costume!?
Nay! Do not say such things!
Pirate!
PIRATE!
*Ahem*
Sorry about that. If you really want me to wear a ninja costume, I suppose I'll comply. If it keeps you from being super jumpy...

It's really embarrassing when I'm at the theater watching a scary movie...

Honestly, if you jumped out of nowhere and scared me, with or without a costume, I'd still jump and scream. I'm just really jumpy when things scare me.

I'm not jumpy, per se, I just get this rush of adrenaline. It feels really crazy, like "Oh, you think your big nasty teeth/chainsaw/machete scare me?! Yeah, well, maybe they do! But I'll still kick your ass!"

I don't know, it's just some weird natural reaction I have when something comes out of nowhere to scare me. I can't control it.
As long as it doesn't jump out I'm good

You're making me think of my sister. When I was younger, I used to ambush her, and give a little "Boo!". She would shoot up into the air. Totally worth the yelling...
...And it'll probably make you happy to know that I don't do that anymore.

Yeah, my dad did it to my sister up until about a year ago, which is really messed up because she has anxiety problems. Bravo, dad. Bravo.

Nope it didn't do it. You gotta use one of those pop out scary videos. Even though I know it's coming I'll still jump.

Oh, you'd probably scare me. People unintentionally scare me, and I still jump.
I promise I won't steal your answers any more

Basicaly, things jump out at you like Doom 3 for about 8-9 hours, that's the extent of Dead Space scares.

As opposed to FEAR's clearly broken up segments where a little girl dances in and out of shadows or walks toward you?
Don't get smart. Taken out of context not many of these games are scary.

Fear isn't scary either.

That's exactly what Dead Space is, "boo" repeated 150 times.
Another problem with Dead Space is that you collect so many resources, even on harder difficulty settings, that you become over-powered, in System Shock 2, you are constantly out of resources with odds stacked against the player, every corner is threatening, you hear the enemy's before seeeing them. In fact Dead Space pretty much ripped off System Shock 2 in a few respects and in all cases, System Shock 2 is still far more effective.
