Oh, and Ashley died on Virmire, not that I really romanced her anyway... Just better safe than sorry
Rejecting Liara hurt.

Speaks volumes about Bioware that they can make us care so much though. Suppose I'll just have to ignore her, which is just as bad as rejecting her lol... poor Liara all alone down there with no Shep coming to talk, and I ended up recruiting her first because she's vital to my squad.
I was just going to just roll my male Shep straight into 2 and skip 1 but that feels wrong. No connection with the character. What a conundrum.

I wonder if I actually will feel guilty when I leave her on Virmire. If I do...damn, I don't know what I'll do.

Currently working on a male Shep myself for the Tali romance too. Sounds like I'm going to have a hard time of it as well. Never realized that Liara falls in love with you one way or another because I've always romanced her. Her awkwardness is too adorable to resist.

I found it very easy to avoid romancing Liara. She does not appeal to me on any level (save that she is female), but you just don't pursue all the conversation options. Only enough to feel like you get to know the character a little bit, and once to check on her after you kill Benezia. That's it.
