Argh... sorry i have to say there is more then just one ending. Throughout the game you have to make choices. if you choose incorrectly you get a bad result hence bad ending. One of my play-throughs had more epilogue text then in the origins! keep positive people and remember all reviews are subjective.

You probably just singlehandedly saved all of Fereld- I mean the DA:A subforum.  Thanks for confirming this.

I was gonna say. People were taking the "Abrupt Ending" quote to mean so many specific things.

Hope is nice.  But without my Leliana... my world is bleak and dark.

Okay.  Melodramatic and sappy.

Glad to hear that there may be more satisfying epilogues.

I think what people are more worried about (well, me certainly) is whether Awakening looks to be the 'end of the line' for your character. OP said that it seemed to him that things had come to a close - what vibe did you get from your epilogues?

Good.

If I could hug you, I wouldn't. But still, thank you.

I know Bioware has said DA is a "franchise" from the get go, but IF Awakening is disappointing ( and heck, I haven't played it yet so I might end up loving it), then I hope it doesn't bode ill for the quality of future DA games.

While EA seems better than Activision and how they are treating CoD, I only want new DA games so long as they are going to be quality and not rushed games that try to capitalize on the popularity of the original.

If Bioware can pump out multiple expansions in a year or DA2 by 2/1/2011 and have them be the same quality as DAO, then more power to them. But if we're going to get a product thats rough around the edges with a crummy ending, then that will definitely hurt my interest in future DA games.

The idea of making tough choices throughout the expansion actually mean something is nice imo.

Only problem is, well, it will likely end leaving everyone hungering for more, but not only will they have to wait a year, but will have to start with new characters - something people get veeeeery attached to round here.

Baaah! Thank you, for the clarification- If Awakening has choices that add up throughout the game and culminate in multiple endings, thats what I like to hear. I should probably just hold my tongue until I've played the game before planning an Exalted March to Edmonton...:pinched:

Depending on what you did at the end, i can see your character do one more adventure. After that... only Bioware can say.

Come on, where's the party camp? You can only really talk to people for the companion quests.

I'm just curious -- did you never find the dialogues that occur throughout the world? There are objects that will indicate a conversation can be started with a companion, and are not at all related to their quests.

Are we talking about the sort of things they had in ME2?  Because I was really up in the air about whether or not I liked those ... they could be alright, but at the same time it fealt like they never applied to the people I actually wanted to talk to.

All right! Looks like there's hope for a Dragon Age equivalent of Throne of Bhaal yet, then!

If the expansion hints at Orlais, then it is highly probable that the Morrigan storyline will be delt with.

Hmmm... I'm tempted to ask why you think its only one more adventure, but then that would be spoiling it for me....hurry up already Tuesday! I'm  on an emotional roller coaster here!:o

Thanks.  I will hope for the best then.

Lol. Its ironic in a sense... all the debate and speculation and worry and questions about awakening thus far, and no one asked if there would be multiple endings or not.

I mean its a Bioware game - of course there must be multiple endings based off the potential choices made, right?  ... (!!EDIT!! (greenface21)'s post came in while I was typing this, I guess that confirmed there are multiple endings, yay! )

Do you mean to imply that Origins is in any way short or small?

Well, while recognizing that DA:O was in fact _not_ small, it did _feel_
small to me sometimes. Mainly the mandatory use of an overland map. I
hate that with a passion. Takes all the sense of exploration away for
me. Its great when you want to avoid cross-continent backtracking on
fetch quests, but I really would prefer connected maps fleshing out the
continent. That and the fact combat was too easy even on the harder
difficulties, but I take that as a given in these kinds of games.
And let's face it, who didn't finish the game and want more (in a good way)?

WHOA! Wait a minute- back track here. Only ONE ending? No, no, no! Not acceptable! Doesn't that break some kind of bioware/dragon age rule? o.O;;

i get the feeling awakening is part of a much bigger story arc, that to me would explain the abrupt ending, their going to do the same thing with the journeys series

Also, assuming you pursued one of the romances in Origins and imported a characfter, I was wondering if you'd share your assessment regarding the degree and manner in which your relationship was actually acknowledged in the game.

The past page has been confirming multiple endings.

I was concerned about the lack of party camp dialogue too. It was the best way to get to know characters. I really didn't connect to any of the ME2 characters, I want to be able to talk to them when I want to not just when they want to.

It is said there are multiple endings. Like Origins.  But if you considering only one ending as '' every decision will lead the same fight '' well its kinda is , Hello Archdemon ?

but other then that it has multiple epilogues.

I am wondering though if there is another part like Post-Coronation ?

Its not the fact that there is one ending or several, its the fact that they OP felt the story just took a grinding halt and tossed you to the last battle.

I shouldn't be too judgemental, but it does seem lacking *sigh

Iam now feeling indecisive about this game. I like to interact and talk with party members, in camp and being able to have conversations with party members was good and made you feel like you really got to know and connect with them.

But now you just click on objects in the world to initiate conversations? That sounds really stupid and impersonal. I liked being able to talk to them when I wanted to, it was quite in depth.

It seems like things are going down hill now, there's too many minuses and not enough pluses.

Iam still leaning towards do not buy.

Don't have the game yet.  From what I read though, you talk to party 1) by clicking on objects in the world and initiating conversations and 2) by talking to them in camp when they have an arrow over their head, indicating they have conversation options.

So in other words - when bioware says that your charcters romances are "put on hold" or that dog is just not on THIS adventure - is more or less a subtle lie because your character dies loveless and petless ehich means no further adventures with your former companions...Not only does this expansion not sound the least bit appealling but how will they be able to sell us on any other dlc/expansions after this garbage one. I mean was Biowares main goal with this expansion to alienate as many Dragon Age origins fans as possible
