I have a sword forged in the volcanoes of Olympus, guaranteed to deflect anything up to the a nuke. I'll sell it for only $250.000,000, but it will only work in the hands of a true master like Busomjack. If he truly is what he clams, if not it is just a piece of old steel.
I guess you missed the part where I explained why a sword is the physical manifestation of the blade master's skill, resolve, strength, and unyielding courage. It is spiritual, the blade master and the blade are combined entity that are destined to find each other and become one greater whole.
Nothing as immaterial as money will get in the way of a blade master's destiny.
Speaking of honing my strength, I plan to bench press 255 lbs pretty soon.

Man, do I feel PUMPED! I am making such amazing progress that I think I may have a career in bodybuilding. I can now bench press more than 90 percent of all marines anyways so it probably won't be too long until I am in professional territory.
One great thing I noticed about getting pumped up is that all of the verminous trash on the street don't ask me for money as much anymore. It's great walking the streets at night without being harrassed.
MAN I feel GREAT!
Here is the video of me kicking some serious ass.
You need to work on your technique. You wiggle too much, put your feet back under you and arch your back slightly (one should be able to put a hand between the bench and the small of your back).
Here's a video for you:
Bench press 550 lbs
You're welcome.

So can I. You can check my video list to see a video of me benching 245 lbs 2 times so you can imagine I can bench press 240 4 times.
Therefore your strength is equal with mine but your skill in the fighting arts has yet to be proven.

I do NOT arch my back! I would never even consider doing that considering the horror stories I've heard.
My technique was sublime. Notice how I went all the way to my chest and lifted it all the way up until my arms were locked, exactly the way a bench press should be.
As for that 550 lb bench press. Sure the guy has strength but can he match my speed and skill? I doubt it.

You still wiggle. And I said arch slightly did I not?
Look pal, I don't care about speed and skill, my comment concered your bench press performance. If you want to lift heavy you need to learn how to do it right. That's all I'm saying.

I did not wiggle and I did not arch my back at all, even slightly. My bench press technique was immaculate and I am quickly on the path of becoming one of the world's strongest athletes.
Combined with my speed, skill and extensive knowledge of sword fighting and wrestling I will become a warrior of legends.

I don't believe I am perfect but I know my lessers when I see them. You have not earned the right to have your criticism be considered legitimate unless you can not only lift more but also have extensive skill in at least 3 samurai arts including Kendo, Yagyu Shinkage Ruge, and Iaido, as well as being a self-taught professional wrestler with stealth skills.

I guess it never occured to you that the local YMCA also has an internet cafe.
I work out but rest is important too. Your body needs time to heal as pressing yourself too hard can have a catabolic effect, detrimental to strength training.
Besides, you saw the video and how badass I am didn't you? My strength should not be in question here.

Fool, I never claimed mastery of anything. Even with extensive skill however I am still a novice in the eyes of the masters and therefore must continue training to be considered worthy.

Now today's bullets, which are more malleable, being comprised more of a lead or lead-like base, has been proven to be able to be chopped in half by a true katana ..... IF it is hit dead center by the keen edge of the katana straight on, and it could NOT do such in mass succession. Else the katana would shatter. Another reason why samurai used stabbing and jutting attacks to a metal armored knight. The katana can not last to long when slicing against metal.
Another note on deflecting with the katana. If you every really watched a true swordsman/woman use one, most deflects of another blade are done via the katana's edge or back side. Only rarely is it ever deflected via the side of the blade. There is a reason to this, the katana's blade is one that is both hard and bendable, hardened outer metal folded over a lighter and bendable tang or core. Side deflections, dependent on the force, would either cause the katana to bend or shatter.
Ergo, if your deflection of bullets were even a hair off against today's bullets, which are fired at mass velocity and force, your katana would be unusable and off weighted, IF it survived the actual hit of the bullet.
Congrats on the 250 lb bench, but drop the ego rage rush and maybe you would get less static, but it seems like that's what you actually want. In which case your attempt at becoming a "master" of the arts of battle is an epic FAIL. Since you obviously lack the discipline to control your ire and rage.

They do not flatten and give when smacking another hardened surface equal to its own type of hardness. If shot from a distance of 500 ft. or less it would shatter the blade or cause an extreme bend of the blade depending on where it hit. The only recourse the blade had back then was that muskets and arquebuses was when they had to reload after the shot. Hence, why the Japanese made their own under supervision of the bakufu, or shogunate.

Muskets? Sword fighting was common place in Japan even all the way up until the 20th century and guns have not evolved that much since then. They had machine guns back then and many weapons first crafted during that time are still in use today.
Just because I feel rage does not make me undisciplined. On the contrary, one who can master his rage can utilize it as a weapon of unstoppable power against his enemies.
Modern day Katanas are not true weapons but rather decorative pieces. The art of forging a katana worthy of a true blade master is an art few possess and a work of art few people are worthy of wielding. I hope to one day earn that honor.

BJ: Again you need to research this .. you spoke of old masters which I replied with informing of the old masters. Those from back in the 1500's when guns were introduced as weapons against the samurai. Muskets and arquebuses were the major leaguers back then against the true katanas. No where did I say swordsmanship was stopped.
Again you showed the failure with disciplined rage. A true warrior knows when to take arms and when to let the ego punch roll away. In the means of defending honor, if thats what your thinking your doing, is being able to let childish jibes roll off ya. While confronting it is just more dishonor against yourself. Look at your posts, it shows that you lack your own honor since you roll rampant against another's quip or jibe.
Sorry but again I am left little recourse but to declare this an epic fail on your part.

You speak as if I'm implying all swords were capable of deflecting bullets just on the merit that they happened to be old.
On the contrary, such swords that could have always been swords of legends whose numbers were few, even more so today since the ancient arts have all but almost completely vanished. Obviously not everyone was worthy to wield a blade of masters otherwise the day when the sword ruled all would have endured today.
Once again you fail to see that rage and anger is only detrimental to those who lack the discipline to control it. Rage can influence adrenal levels and grant temporary gains in physical strength. By using it to his advantage a true warrior can overcome otherwise impossible odds.
Rage is a weapon and utilizing it is an artform you clearly don't understand.
