So long as you convince yourself that you can't do it, you never will.  The true masters of the blade have almost all but vanished following the Meiji restoration yet I have heard that some still exist in solitude, training and forging their skills handed down by tha ancestors.
The Samurai in their twilight years had learned and mastered bullet deflection and I seek to one day find one of these lost masters so I can become his apprentice, surpass him and then spread the teachings and restore the era when the sword ruled all.

I hear Master Roshi can teach you to reach Super Saiyan level 3 if you catch his monkey, you might want to look into that. I attended one of his summer camps last semester and now my kamehameha can bench 500 lbs.

Wow, that's something I'd really like to see you do in real action... But then again, I'm not so sure I want to see you die live on youtube.

As for deflecting bullets, the way you practice is by standing in front of a mirror while someone shoots the laser tip of the gun at you.  Your goal is to keep your blade in the path of the gun at all times and if the red dot appears on your blade, you will succeed.

Ah yes but there is one problem with that, if you are standing in front of the mirror wouldnt you be distracted by the incredibly handsome and muscled man staring back at you? I find it would be hard for anyone to concentrate when you, the superior being is standing within veiw, especially if you are wearing those tight pants you mentioned on page 1.

lol, thats cute.  Seriously though someone as dedicated to the arts as me does not have time to engage in the debaucheries of the flesh.  My role in life is the role of a warrior and I don't need unnecessary distractions to serve as roadblocks.
I have forsaken all earthly pleasures in pursuit of the lost arts and the perfection of my body.

Dude, get real, not a single person as ever deflected a bullet with a sword at will. Next thing youre gonna say that you can deflect the bullet from my grandpa's rifle. That's when I'm going to laugh real hard because that's physically impossible. The .50caliber bullet will break any blade.

So in theory, you can only "deflect" a bullet from a handgun, and only if you "cut" the bullet (so it has to be a frontal hit between the bullet and the cutting-side of the sword).
However, not a single human being can act fast enough to get into the right position at the right timing to deflect a bullet when it's shot at the target. Maybe if we're both standing still, there would be no wind and I would tell you when and where I'm going to shoot at you, only THEN you would have a small chance of deflecting the bullet. But in a real battle between you and me, with me carrying a gun and you only a sword? Not a chance, you're going to get killed if you would try.

Busomjack, find a legit, hard sparring martial arts school and get some real training. That is of course if you are serious. If not well this thread was pretty good for a laugh.

If nothing else, it was worth the read just for the pics that were posted..

No, you get real.  You live your life with your pre-conceived notions that what seems beyond our ability is beyond possible.  With the proper skills and dedication virtually anything is possible and the biggest roadblock the likes of you faces is your own lack of faith and resolve.
A true master of the blade can deflect the bullets even from a fully automatic weapon if he knows proper blade positioning and angling to ensure that both the bullet's path is deflected and that the bullet doesn't deflect back on him.
A true master can even deflect bullets back at his enemy proving that the sword is indeed superior to the blade in the hands of a master.  That is why I always carry around my sword and never use a gun.

If you were to face me with a gun you would never have the chance to draw it before I cut you to ribbons.  I've mastered how to be aware of my surroundings and even the most subtle of actions will be noticed.
My speed and agility would catch you off guard and my blade would taste your blood.

It's hard to find a master who is worthy of my skill.  Currently I have been reading some good martial arts and sword fighting books at the public library and watching some wrestling videos.  I'm mostly self trained however.

Maybe you should watch some Mythbusters. They already dismissed your claims. It's physically IMPOSSIBLE to deflect a bullet with a blade, unless it's only a handgun that's shooting the bullet, in a wind-free location, and you HAVE to hit the bullet with the cutting-side of the blade, else it will simply penetrade the steel of your blade and kill you anyway.

And even IF you deflect the bullet, it will shatter and the pieces will still fly at you at high speed. If you LUCKY, you'll only get minor wounds, but most likely you'll have shattered pieces of steel everywhere in your body.

You think you're the master of blades, then I'm the master of physics. I tell you, it's physically impossible.

PS: You think your speed and agility can outmatch the speed of a 860 FEET PER SECOND flying bullet?

Like I said, find a real school. Self trained will get you a savage beating if you take on someone who is your equal in size. You can only know your limits by hard sparring and alive training. Reading books and watching videos are not a replacement for this.

BTW, where do you live? You said you live in a state with a high obesity rate, if that is, say, Texas, they have some legit schools.

Let me ask you, how many of those "mythbusters" actually tried deflecting a bullet with a sword?  The only reason they believe it is not possible is because they cannot do it themselves.  A master of the blade can feel the wind around him and factor that it when deflecting a bullet.
A sword forged by a master swordsmith can withstand the impact of a bullet easily.

The fact that I do believe it is possible is the reason why I know I will one day master the art entirely.  Nothing you say can persuade me otherwise for to do so would be a weakness on my part.

Actually I live in Kentucky unfortunately even though I'm from Colorado.  I have visited a few schools out here but the problem is they all ask for money.  A true master of the fighting arts would never train for the gain of monetary wealth.  A true master trains a pupil because he deems him worthy.  If your only pre-requisite is wealth then anybody, regardless of how unfit they are as warrios is acceptable.
That is the standard of greed which I cannot in good faith as a warrior who embraces the tenets of the samurai and ninja can agree to.

LOL! The Mythbusters tried it by placing the katana on a block and then hitting it with a gun straight-on.

Here is a video with proof to puth you out of your illusion:

PS: And again, no "master of the wind" has a faster reaction then a 860 feet per second traviling bullet. By the time you heard "BANG" you already have been hit by the bullet. You're still human and not a single human, a human brain is not capable of reacting that fast, no matter how much you train.

Food and shelter are necessities, not debaucheries.  No, you misunderstood.

I do only what is necessary to hone my prowess as a warrior.  Good nutrition and proper sleep are both necessary for good physical health so I provide myself with both.

I'm gonna ignore the BS you're typing that allows you to refuse to train hard and suggest that you look for good Judo. Here in California good judo can run you, at the most expensive, $100-$115 (sometimes cheaper). For learning how to punch people with the Earth, that plus a good gi (Hsu gis run pretty cheap, do a search) is a bargain.

If you really are trolling, well, good job, you got me to respond in a serious manner more than once Image IPB.

Skill has nothing to do with it, there is no living thing that could move fast enough to stop a flying bullet.

Cutting a bullet in 2 is a cool way to show how strong the sword is, but in reality, all youve done is turn 1 deadly object into 2, if your behind it (which you'll have to be to stop it), your going to get more than one wound.

So even if you could cut a flying bullet, it's a stupid thing to do. Every real sword-master knows that.
