I think it more likely you are being heterophobic.

No, that's not what I meant. I meant, if you're a male character, you have no options to pursue a homosexual relationship.

Yes but why does that equal homophobic? Lack of on optin does not mean that the game (or rather, the designers) fear something. You can't swim in ME, does that make the game hydrophobic?

This game is anti-me, since it doesn't have 'me' in it.

Also, homophobic would imply there isn't any lesbian action going on either.

I can already see that this is going to take a negative turn. I just noticed that this is how it "seems." bringing up hydrophobia is inconsequential. Why would Shepard swim? It is inapropriate for the story. Shepard wouldn;t stop to take a dive while trying to stop the collectors.

I never said Bioware or the game designers were. Dragon Age is proof of that.

Well it seems this way when you think about it. In ME1, there were no gay romance options. In ME2, there are still no gay romance options. And yet, there are lesbian options. I find this to be somewhat discrimnating. Opinions?
I don't think you can pin the homophobic tag on Bioware or the developers, for all of the reasons stated above. I think the homophobia has played out mostly on the forums, in the trolling and the irrational responses to the prospect of gay content. Clearly, Bioware and the developers have no irrational fear of homosexual content since they have implemented such in past games and even in ME, to an extent. The MOST you can say about Bioware (if you believe, as I do, that they made a specific decision to avoid gay male content in this franchise for marketing reasons) is that they punked out. They put in some lesbian action so as to not be accused of having no homosexual content at all, but they stayed away from the one thing that would be most controversial: m/m romance. Depending upon how you believe this decision played out, and what conclusions you reach about the inexplicable disparity in the romance options afforded to female Shep as opposed to male Shep, the most you can say is that ME is not gay-friendly, and posits a vision of the future that is too closely aligned to the prejudices of today, and too clearly driven by today's bottom line.
Then congratulate Bioware on making an outstanding mass market video game.

Not particularly. There are no gay relationships but plenty of lesbian implications strewn about thanks to the asari. I could turn this into an essay length post, but as I'm drowsy and uninterested I'll leave at this: Mass Effect is exactly what I expect from a series that frequently panders to heterosexual men in their late teens to late twenties. I do not see it as homophobic so much as narrowly targetted.

Actually Bioware originally intended Kaidan to be a gay romance option, they eventually decided cut the idea but signs that Kaidan was originally meant to be a gay romance option can be found throughout the game, just look at how Shepard approaches Kaidan on the Normandy whenever you speak to him, this absolutely screams brokeback mountain.
But if you still arent convinced take a look at this

It might be EA
No. Mass Effect came out before BioWare partnered with EA, EA came in and released the PC version, but the Xbox 360 ME1 was published by Microsoft.
