I get very fast loads, except in the dwarf zones. For some reason in that area the load times are very long and it becomes annoying after needing to travel back and forth for quests. My least favourite area.

Same for me can be 10 minutes loading sometime.

AMD quad core 2.3ghz

ATI 4870 1gig

Windows 7 64 bit

4gb ram

This is really frustrating, hope you guys at bioware come up with a fix to this soon.

AMD Phenom 9500 here. Loading times increase significantly the longer I play as well, as well as general gameplay begins to stutter and lag. Restarting the game fixes this for a while, then it gets worse again. Seems like a memory leak.

I also have this problem and i got it about 20 hours into the game. Now, the longer i play the longer load times and a reboot of dragon age fixes it.

Yeah, I also think there is a memory leak. The longer you play, the more sluggish the game gets. I hope Bioware gets this fixed.

Many past threads on this. Most have concluded it's a memory leak that affects only some systems.

Developers have posted that they are aware and a fix is a top priority (but that fix may not be easy to find).

Until then, quitting and restarting is a temporary fix. For a few, quitting to main menu seemed to be enough. For others, it took quitting entire game.

aye, hopefully a patch or a fix will come soon, the game is wonderful but this is really frustrating.

Yeah, it's a bit frustrating because it breaks up the flow of gameplay to do that every 30 minutes. :(

I thought i had it bad with 1 minute loading. It seems like the computer clogs up or something after a while, with decent loading the first 30mins or so (usually not more than 10 seconds), then it just gets worse and worse (1-2 minutes).

I don't think it has anything to do with the Orzammar or any other zone. Seems like it just happens after you've played for a while and your character gets "older" with more data to store.

I've never had a loading time exceed 120 seconds.

Anything even near 120 seconds is terrible. It should take 10 seconds.

Some battles are completly unplayable, like the one I'm doing now, there are so many people that the game chokes on itself at the very start. Spells and abilities take 5-10 seconds of lag time to case in which time an emeny will have already hit you 6 or 7 times

Has anyone else experienced this? It can take several minutes to load a save game or load a new area.

I just timed it and it took over 7 minutes to go from the Brecilian Forest to the Ruins. 7 MINUTES!

WTF

Theres a known memory leak they are investigating. Every 45 minutes or so just hit F5 to quicksave alt+f4 to close the game, then start it back up and click resume. Keep playing till it starts acting slow again.

I have a phenom processor and vista 32-bit. SP1 Overwrote my bios option to disable the TLB erratum patch which I didn't really notice till I played DAO. I used a third party disabler suggested by someone here and my load times are blessedly normal now. If you have a phenom and vista with sp1 you might look into it yourself though the programs are USE AT YOUR OWN RISK type of deals. Its been working fine for me for a week. Here are some links:

I can do the TLB fix in my Bios - enabling or disabling it makes no difference. For me it's like 20 minutes and the game becomes a stuttering mess. :(

Phenom II's (which some people have in this thread with the issue) do NOT have the TLB issue, that's a Phenom original issue.

I've been having the same loading trouble as everyone else. Restarting is effective - but I've also turned off "Persistent Gore".

On another site - someone said the "Persistent Gore" builds up in the memory and doesn't clear itself. I tried it last night and it seemed to help. I didn't play past 4 hours - so I can't say what the long term effects will be.

But it might help to speed up some of the high battle areas...
