I installed the patch and the first problem I noticed is that I can no longer start the game from the menu and shortcut links I had to go right to the dvd to start it.

Next I noticed that some of my settings needed to be reconfigured again.

Once I got in game I noticed that several things are acting like I havnt done them yet. Like the little help box is coming up again on the lower right of the screen and repeating tips that I have already had it tell me.

All the above are trivial and can be dealt with.

My biggest annoyances are that my party members are repeating there original dialoges from when I first got them evry time I talk to them. There stories no longer advanced and my party gets moved back to a previous location where I have been or somewhere weird that I dont know where I am and have to reload the game. This has become a game stopping issue for me.

Also when in conversations now I dont see the NPC I am talking to I see a static wallpaper or something from the game.

Are there any fixes to anything I listed here? Especially the stuff in the last paragraph

How do u run it from the dvd?

go to my computer and double click the drive it is on kind of like autostart.



Doesnt help much thou with the other problems.

actually when i do that it simply opens the menu again, and i still cant get the game to play =(

is this how it is working for you? or does it skip the menu for configuration?

OMG - I just installed patch and can no longer start the game..the launcher appears but Play does nothing. It doesn't matter if launcher is ran from DVD or Desktop. I ran the config tool which doesn't report any errors / problems but also has no option to play either. There's an update install log and nothing there out of the ordinary. I'm left with uninstalling/reinstalling.

I'm having the same problem after installing the patch, hopefully Bioware realizes it soon and fixes it.

Same problem here. Win. Vista; drivers current...worked perfectly before patch. D'oh.

Silly question: Where do you get the patch from, does it automatically DL for the PC or is there some button I am not seeing to get the patch? Sounds like I really don't want it at this point, but for future reference it would be nice to know.

Ok why would I install that update when I don't Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 on my computer?

And Avira anti-virus still says that the patch is a trojan. What to do? Is Bioware gonna fix this?

I use Trend Micro and it didnt report any security threats with the patch.

An update : downloading the c++ update did get the play button to work, but now I am updating the drivers for my nvidia card, hoping it will work, will post again soon.

The Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86)
installs runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries required to run
applications developed with Visual C++ on a computer that does not have
Visual C++ 2005 installed.

I downloaded the update + updated all my drivers, and now I am back in playing the game. Thats the good news.

Bad news is that now my game keeps basically rewinding, like Mavraszune. So now i am starting the game over. =(
