You're wrong on the whole bench thing, OP. In high school I've seen girls put up 135 lbs.

As I said, there are women who can bench press a lot when they juice.  The chemistry of a woman though puts a strict limit in just how physically strong they can become.

That is why I have advocated making female Shepard's melee attacks do less damage in the next patch and balancing that by giving female Shepard a "seduce" ability which makes male organic enemies temporarily fight on your side.

I wouldn't say "juice", some of them I knew and were good friends with, and I know for a fact they weren't jucing.  They may have been weighttraining and took supliments, but nothing illegal.

Well, any healthy person, even a woman, should be able to press at least his/her own weight.
I must say I don't know what my absolute limit is when it comes to bench-pressing (I don't bench-press on a regular basis, it not my thing), but I know I can lift 70kg / 155lb (my own weight) without sweat. I bet a lot of (healthy) women with the same weight can do it too.

I doubt it, but if you want to believe that that's cool.  Anyways, now that I think of it I'm thinking that maybe Mordin can lift a bit more than 110 lbs.  If you have him with you during the Collector ship mission as well as Grunt, you see Mordin help Grunt get up.  That takes a lot of strength I imagine.

Durr. On my playthrough, Tali helped Grunt up.
Since *everyone* can help Grunt up in that mission, you can now up all the others to at least 110 as well.

That is where the suspension of disbelief part comes in.

Please, don't turn this into a male VS female debate.  That is not the purpose of this thread.

How come you don't suspend disbelief when Mordin, 50 years old with an average lifespan of only 40 years, which would roughly compare to a nowaday's 100 years for a human, helps Grunt up, then?

Because I don't think that is real.  The writers themselves said the ages are not all real and that is believable considering they say Grunt is 22 when that is not possible.

Then that means this thread has no reason to exist!

Busomjack, you start some of the weakest posts on this forum. ZennExile's threads are more interesting. How much can they benchpress?! Seriously?! It depends on whether we're talking earth norm or something else. Why does it even matter? What relevance does that information have on ME2 or ME3? He could be a scrawny wimp and still kick ass because of superior tactics. The only time his strength or anybody's strength comes into question is when Shep grabs the falling crew member and when that crew member grabs shep on the suicide mission.

I just don't buy that.  Women lack the testosterone for significant muscle build.  Unless these girls are freaks of nature I don't see them bench pressing more than 80 lbs.

Because physical strength and endurance is important for any soldier.  Besides, there are melee attacks in the game in case you didn't notice.

The OP is a ******, yes, and he doesn't give women their due, and he talks down at them etc. etc. etc.

But, the fact is that men have a far greater capacity for high body strength than women do. It's a fact. There's nothing sexist about that fact, unless you were to claim that reality is sexist.

I get also that in the ME universe women are potentially a lot stronger than they are today due to genetic engineering, but that still doesn't change the fact that the male in-game model clearly has a higher muscle density than that of the more athletic body-type female model.

This doesn't mean that women can't train their bodies to be as physically able as men are - most acts that require a lot of body strength are dependent on how you move your muscles more than how large your muscles are (which is why femshep can do some of her epic punch-outs), but in a challenge of brute strength, a man would usually be victorious over a woman.

I only bring it up because I've been told that I'm sexist before on these boards for stating facts, and it pissed me off. So, even though the OP and his "but she's a woman so probably 1 pound f*cking puny weak women they can't do nothin' right!" attitude is bullshit, it does have grounds in reality. His estimates for women are way off in this genetic enhancement fictional future that Mass Effect represents, though.

Pretty cowardly that you attack me but then agree with me.  You're trying to have it both ways by siding with what I believe but making sure you let everyone know that you despise me since you're afraid you'll be flamed.

I'm not agreeing with you, you stupic macho cunt. I'm saying that in the overwhelming amount of bull**** you post, there's maybe 1% of it that could be considered legitimate. That 1% is the fact that men have a greater capacity for strength than women.

That 1 percent you referred to is actually 100 percent of what has caused this stupid debacle to begin with.  Nice job covering your ass though so you don't have to take responsibility for your opinions.

Baha, you fucking child. If I didn't want to 'take responsibility for my opinions' I wouldn't have come here and posted it on a message board for everyone to see. For the most part, these people aren't arguing against the fact that men are usually stronger than women, they're arguing against your bullshit attitude that has you spouting shit like "not only is she a female but her species is weak as well!" "I don't know anything about Kasumi but she's a woman so clearly she could barely lift her own body weight!"

And in that "100% of what has caused this stupid debacle to begin with" you argued that most healthy women wouldn't be able to lift their own body weight, which is also a pile of fucking ****, let alone completely innacurate for these fictional battle-hardened, genetically engineered characters.

So, dear Bosomjack, why don't you go and benchpress another whopping 250 lbs so you can come back here and tell everyone what a man you are while secretly crying over your hatred for women and sweet longing for Jacob's "well-defined pecs".

Also, fuck off.

Sigh...it's NOT sexist to state that women are typically not as strong as men. It's just a part of human biology.

Look, to be fair women have some natural advantages too. For example, women usually live longer than men. Is that sexist against men?

lol what a friggin douchebag.  you posted a video of yourself bench pressing... on youtube lawl, tiny penis much?

You think I did it out of pride?  No, I did it out of respect for those who have ever dreamed of one day obtaining such strength.  Just as I look up to my betters, I expect others to look up to me and realize that if they put as much work and dedication as I did into toning my strength and skills, then maybe one day they can do it to.

So you want people to look up to you? And you suppose people actually give a damn about how much you can press? How cute.

Well, those who are into perfecting the human body would probably take interest.  Every beginner needs a role model and I am honored to fullfill that role.

Yeah, to bad nobody takes you as a role model, jackass.

I did notice and it is true that physical endurance is important but how much they can benchpress has no relevance.  I could say that he benchpresses 220 lbs and no one could contradict me and it wouldn't make any difference.  It doesn't matter, it would be useless information that has no effect on the story. Thus, it is a stupid thing to start a thread about because it adds nothing and you are probably the only person interested.  No one can satiate your curiosity.

A man who is secure about his sexuality can compliment and respect another man's physical strength without worrying about sounding gay which is what you were obviously and pitifully trying to imply otherwise.  I never said that no women can lift their own body weight.  There are some women who weigh 80 lbs afterall.

Funny subject, just 3 things.

First of all quarians are more durable than humans, i guess this doesn't necessarily mean stronger, but i would still guess that females are stronger than human females. And by the way, Thane is built, I'd say a drell is weaker than a human + he isn't even trained to be strong, so definitely lower. Most humans have physical implants (military at least) so i would guess everybody on your team thats human, should pull higher numbers than people in this day and age are capable of.

Edit one more thing, most species on earth is actually pretty equal between male and female, in some cases female are even stronger or bigger. So basing aliens on human physiology and asume that women are weaker than males of their race is wrong

1. But it is sexist to say that a woman cannot be stronger than a man even with military training.
2. So now that you are backed into a corner you start using sense? Weren't you saying earlier that it is cowardly to agree and disagree with something to avoid flaming?
3. I'm sure that scientific reasearch and just plain facts you learn in life are not baseless.

ITS IRRELEVANT INFORMATION!!! Did you not read that part?  They aren't going to factor in pectoral strength in-game so why ask? This isn't Fight Night 4, your physical strength is uniform across the board.  IT DOESNT MATTER.  Starting threads on things that dont matter to anybody but you is selfish.  You're taking up valuable real estate with this thread.  As a result this is the last post I making here, this thread doesn't need another bump.

I guess it depends on what they mean by more durable.  Quarian men and women certainly don't look as strong as their human counterparts but who knows.  Thane is strong but I think he is trained for strength and speed.
Biologically I would imagine the physical strength of the Drell race is probably about equal to humans since they are of similar weight and height.

This post assumes that no augmentations are used.  No genetic enhancement is ever specified on any character so I don't equate that either since it's impossible to know how much or how little it would factor in.
