The sentiment is nice but what would be the purpose of such a scene?

Anyway - I know that there's talk about such a film but Mass Effect is practically already a movie, what would be the point?

Eeexxxxxxactly. Making a movie would be a step back b/c you're not involved in it, you're just watching.

Actually I could see ME translating really well to the big screen. The only major issue is that to cover all the key elements the movie would have to be relatively long.

ME2 would be akin to the second Matrix movie: cool to watch but so incredibly lame by time the credits roll. Plus James Cameron and whoever owns the rights toI Independance Day could potentially sue.
