You know what's the most hilarious thing about this? I'm actually Chinese.
Grey Ranger: Good to see that somebody else can appreciate a simple post of approval about a game.

I was halfway of finishing ME1 too (Noveria, Therum and a boatload of sidequests done), and guess what. S*** hit the fans, my computer fecked up and all my saves were gone. 50 hours worth gameplay = gone, now I have to start from the beginning. >_
Guess I won't be playing ME2 anytime soon..

I don't think it's possible to get 50 hours of gameplay into one play through. I feel your pain though.Avalla'ch wrote...

I'll bet I put in 10 times that counting all the playthroughs I'll do through 1, 2, and 3 over time though, so it evens out.
To OP, even though I'm sure he's long forgotten this thread, welcome to ME2, though I doubt your 4th playthrough will be your last of ME1. Don't forget subsequent playthroughs when Bioware releases the huge boxset with a mini Normandy model after ME3. One can hope, right? Mini Normandy on my desk would be sick.

They both have their strengths really. I think they flip flop. The strengths of the first are the weaknesses of the second and vice-versa imo. Both are amazing though.Azn_Vanguard wrote...
I agree with you man, ME1 just has somethings better than me2.
Now it's up to ME3 to strike the balance and make the perfect game.

I finished the first two missions of ME2 so far. The action is a LOT more intense, and I'm still getting used to the reloading mechanic (and the fact that my biotics apparently don't work on shielded/armored targets. WTF Bioware??), but after running into a certain someone on Freedom's Progress and listening to the dialogue unfold, I'm certain now that I'll enjoy ME2 as much, if not more, than ME1.
Of course, I only JUST got my Normandy SR-2, so haven't come to the infamous planet scanning yet...

Last night I started my epic playthrough. I have started ME1 as a new Shep at starter level on hardcore, so by the time he is ready for import into ME2, some new DLC may be out for ME2
Both games are fantastic and thankfully have enough replay value to get me through 'til ME3.
Planet scanning, yes, well....1st upgrade is advanced planet scanning, then do a couple of hours of grinding on rich planets, then you are set

IMHO, sidequests in ME1 have loose relations with the main story. They neither help to enhance main character building, nor add much flavor to the game. (like a lot of Mako trips and exp earning fields only)
If ME2 is again failed in sidequests design, it will be hard for me to justify my further investment / expectation...

I really don't think it's true, honestly. Most of the ME2 sidequests dealt with squadmates and their stories. The ones that were on other planets just snipped out the middle-man that was the Mako.LukeC wrote...
I am so surprised to see that the sidequest lines in ME2 might be even weaker than in ME1. (It's that true?)
