I finally got access to dominate last night after committing the unspeakably evil act of siding with Morinth against her mother (I was definitely wearing my "What Would Saren Do?" t-shirt on that occasion).

Anyway, to date, I have used slam, fortify, geth shield boost, warp ammo, AP ammo, and barrier, many of which are (arguably) more functional than dominate, but none of which are as fun.

What could be better than staging an on the fly varren fight, or better yet a Krog-a-Krog headbutting match with the evolved version of the power that controls groups?  Friggin' hillarious!

Its useful I'll admit that. However, I was under the impression if you dominate an organic, you can then warp detonate for effect (since the target is affected by biotics is it not?). I was sadly mistaken :(

I'm toying with the idea of giving it to my sentinel in the place of the Warp ammo I'm using now. It would be cool in as much as it would supplement the character's (currently lackluster) crowd control abilities. Probably won't though. WA gives a nice offensive balance to her, especially when combined with sniper training.

I'll just have to keep Morinth around for yucks.

I wouldnt say the others are more functional than dominate. Since getting access to it, its the only one I take now. Gives you a few extra seconds to think when an enemy squad comes charging in, dominate teh first one you see, then take stock of surroundings, foes etc.
Great fun doing it to enemy engineers and having an extra drone on your side.
Even more fun with mass dominate, and a screen full of husks.

Edit: Great fun with Infuiltrators too. Combined with AI hacking, you leave the enemy killing themselves as you sneak on by. You could even whistle a jaunty tune as you do so and noone would hear you over the gunfire.

Oh wow.  I had no idea it worked on Husks.  Decisions decisions...

When i say it "works", i mean it kills em stone dead.

Youre attempting to override what little neural activity is left in the things, and it seems to turn out to be more than they can handle :)

You can trigger warp explosions off Dominated enemies, you just need to upgrade Dominate to the point they get a barrier. You can then proceed to explode their barrier.

I had dominate rank 4 (heavy).  I don't think warping barriers count for detonations to be perfectly honest.  Not once have I ever seen warping a collector or eclipse sister that their surrounding buddies go flying.

I think he means that there will be a warp detonation because the target is affected by biotics (dominate). I'm not sure though.

Dominate wasn't causing warp explosions for me last time I tried. Neither was Reave, which also puts enemies under the effect of biotics. As far as I can tell only Pull, Singularity, and the lift portion of Slam work.

To use Dominate on krogans or a flamethrower vorcha is really fun.Enemy krogans charge eachother, flamethrower vorchas fight and both explode. There is also a chance that harbinger take over a dominated drone, but then he fights on shepards side for a time.(happens for me)
Ai-hacking and dominate are the most entertaining powers for me.

I've maxed dominate on my engineer. With 2 drones (I always take Legion) and a dominated target, I've got my own little army causing chaos within enemy ranks. Good times.

Aye.  An Engineer with Dominate is a 1-man control army.  Throw in Tali & Legion with AI hacking and drones, and it's really kinda silly how much of the battlefield you can convert to your side to fight for you.
