First of all let it be said I am a major fan of Bioware products.  I own (and have played to death) Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate, KOTOR, Jade Empire, Dragon Age Origins, and, of course, Mass Effect 1& 2.

After playing thru ME2 4 times so far (and ME1 countless times), I believe ME2 has improved on much of what was a bit dissatisfying in ME1. The replay value in ME2 is just as high as in ME1, if not higher since there are several alternate choices to be made as you get to and complete the climax of the game.

All-in-all, I loved the game.  Total voice acting for the game has spoiled me; especially when I play other role-playing games (*cough* Dragon Age *cough*). The character interactions were at least as good as ME1, especially since they are even more fleshed out, so to speak, and you really feel responsible for their well-being.  The gameplay mechanics and control scheme were easy to pick up.  I liked the quick-button feature for powers. And lastly, since I continued with my original character from ME1, I felt more invested in my character and also felt my decisions really mattered.

I'm not sure if I like the new leveling/skill system.  It is more streamlined; eliminating some of the skill sets that might seem redundant or unnecessary.  However I do feel I have fewer options than before to make my character my own, especially in tech and biotics.  It felt frustrating that I would, at the end of the game, or upon reaching the level cap of 30, that my characters and NPC's would often have 1 or 2 skill points that couldn't be put to any use.  I would have liked to be able to max out  my favorite skill sets.  Will the level system continue and expand for ME3, making this a non-issue?

Weapon choices could have used more diversity.  Heavy weapon choices are good, as well as the upgrade system, but I felt limited, if not forced, when it came to choosing what other weapons to carry.  It seemed you only had the choice of the "basic" or "advanced" model of each type of weapon (depending on character class), and that was it.  Granted I did get the Cerberus Network DLC for the new shotgun, so maybe there will be increased DLC for the other weapons.

Money seemed VERY limited since it seemed I was essentially a Cerberus employee and loot was equally limited to the occasional safe and computer hack (c'mon, those leftover collector/geth/merc weapons and armor oughtta be worth something).  It took a while, but money became a non-issue in ME1, now the pendulum seems to have swung the other way.  It makes sense that I shouldn't be up to my ears in credits early on, but towards the end of my game I would have liked to have been able to buy what I wished (though it also seemed markets were almost ridiculously limited in their inventory).

I really liked the more diverse planets on the side missions (it seemd there wasn't another planet with trees in ME1).  I don't really have an opinion on the absence of the MAKO, but I will say the resource scanning still is the biggest bog-down factor of the game.

And finally, since BioWare opened the door for character dress and customization, I would have liked (and would still like, since it could be DLC) to see more clothing and armor customization,  I'm speaking especially about Shepherd's casual wear, it seemed like the only two choices were to wear a type of uniform, or look like a 23rd century biker.  Some more variety would be a nice touch.

These complaints didn't detract from my enjoyment of the game, and everything else about ME2 was awesome.  I just think a little tweaking would even raise my (and others') level of enjoyment.

Comments are welcome.

I'm not sure whether you're a troll, or just a functionally retarded adult. Either way, I feel sorry for you.
