Watching the trailers, I thought I would be going against some huge dragons, lots of huge dragons, but so far I have only seen them in cut scenes. 

Now, I'm not the type of poster to rant and be like "I want my money back,"  or "I'm not playing anymore," or "Why is there no huge dragon in my camp selling DLC?", but I was just wondering if anyone else though there would be more dragons to slay.  Maybe it was the name, but I want to kill a damn dragon already.

BTW, I'm like 10 percent done with the game.  Maybe one is coming soon?

gcanders, i dont want to spoil but, i have fought like 1 dragon ( is not a boss) like 3 mini dragons and there is one, that i dont want to spoil. have you seen at least one? where?

Do you really want them to make it so Dragons are just the normal generic bad guys who are ordinary? Dragons are pretty damn special. If there was lots of them they'd have to be weak and boring.

I've only seen the one in my dreams, and then I woke up. I imagine it's the boss, but 10 hours in, I thought I'd see or fight one. It's cool, though. I don't want them to be ubiquitous. I just want to kill something big.

Dragons were concidered extinct in the age before the dragon age, it was only in the last year of that age i think that they found out they're not. It's the reason that the current age is called the dragon age. So they are extremely rare.. And special!

Good thing too, because as you probably noticed, they don't like humans much

Indeed from what I know there's two real dragon fights ingame and how shall we put it - I've only managed to kill the "fake" one so far. I had to switch it to easy, give leliana drake scale armour and kill the thing from range. I of course sent in my character to melee it to death to get the cool animation xD

The dragons are the toughest bosses, and quite frankly, even on easy I struggled, I don't think you'd want to run into them too often. There are plenty of "lesser" dragons, but I only know of a few actual dragons, being about twenty ours in *spoilers* i've already ran into one.

I've killed 2 high dragons (the really big ones) 1 of the regular dragons, and a bunch of drakes.... they make an appearance. don't worry

I'm roughly 20 hours in and I have yet to smell a dragon.

The dragon fights are few, but epic.

that one trailer where they are fighting the drragon and the girl turns into a spider is the reason I pre ordered the game. I would have bought it, anyway, but I really like that scene.

Yeah, there are dragons, and they're frightening, but they're more late game material. You know, because they're Giant Lizards that are plenty capable of destroying a fortified town (according to the Codex).

It's hard to destroy a fortified town. I recently read Pillars of the Earth, and it explained why a simple wall would deny many attackers from success. I think everyone should read this book, even if it is an Oprah book club book. Hell, The Road was an Oprah book club book, and it rocked. Look for the trailer for the upcoming movie. I don't know if I could sit on my couch with the fireplace blazine while reading it with Oprah, but it's a damn good book.

Slayed 3 dragons on my first playthrough. 2 in the main story, 1 side quest.

Edit:used to say 4, but last one was a Drake when thinking about it, check "ageless" for spoilers

What other? I'm on my third playthru and I've only seen the 2 in the main story and the sidequest.

theres 3 dragons that are bosses that i can think of. and quite a few regular non boss ones ive encountered. all of them are a little later in the game though,

You must have missed one of the first quests in Ostagar - an elvish courier sends you on a mission to kill half a dozen dragons in a warehouse. Positively epic.

There's just one genuine giant dragon (and one small critter). There's also the end boss, and one other dragon-wannabe - not exactly dragons either of them, but they look enough like them.



I would've liked to have had another dragon fight somewhere, but there's nowhere in game I think one would fit in.

There are 3 huge dragons in the game as far as I know :



One you fight for sure. One you find for sure, but fight optionally. And a third that you can fight if you find the side quest.



I don't think there are any more of them since I beat all sidequests and those are the only ones I found.

there's 2 main dragons...1 boss dragon...and a couple more fodder dragons (and no I don't mean the drakes.)



so there's 4+ at least..not too bad
