Is it my computer or is it the way the tool set is?

If I place grass, animals, or trees, I practically have to be zoomed in so far the camera is touching the ground before I see the tree or animal, and this makes it very difucult for making forests and paths.

I am wondering if this is my computers fault

Specs:

Tecra A10 Toshiba
3 gigs of ram (32) - computer comes with 4 gigs (for 64)
Windows 7

Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family
Total available graphics
memory1340 MBDirect X version 10
Intel Core duo P8400 2.26Gzh (x2)

I meet the min req for playing the game (which is fine by me)

Also is there any way to turn off the "random placement" of objects like trees and grass - it annoys me....

upper right corner there's a dropdown menu called "speed tree rendering distance selector." choose the right setting. to turn off the random placement of vegetation you've to set the brush radius to 1.0 or below... it's all explained at the toolset's wiki. sometimes it's better to take an hour to read and understand the basics ;)

Use a smaller radius when you're laying them down and they will end up right where you're clicking.
