1) What's your must have bonus power for an Insanity run?

2) What's the "Trigger" for the Collector ship mission? A certain level? Certain number of squadmates or loyalty missions completed? Meant to get some of the prime upgrades on Tuchanka last night before it came up, but it beat me to it. If I knew what the trigger was I could have planned it better.

Thanks.

1) I chose an ammunition power, Armor Piercing I believe. Warp is also a good power.

2) It's triggered by doing enough stuff. A recruitment mission and two loyalty missions will trigger it, but side quests also count towards it if you avoid recruitment and try to stack side and loyalty missions.

Personally, i'd go with energy drain to round you off, while using a squadmates ammo power. There is no actual trigger event, rather a certain amount of game complete. There is a hidden completion percentage, and when it reaches a certain point the next storyline mish is triggered. As far as i can tell, and it's logical, storyline missions give the most completion, followed by recruitments then loyalties then lastly by the random missions you can do giving the least. This is not confirmed AFAIK, but it seems to be the case.

Yeah. I do like AP ammo. About to turn it to Tungsten for my Engineer and it's proven very useful.

Was thinking about Warp Ammo, too...isn't it supposed to double damage for enemies under the effect of a biotic like Warp or Singularity?

Yeah, warp ammo gives 100% extra dmg to biotically affected enemies, which means you'll be doing 300% weapon dmg to them(ragdoll bonus also), but taking an ammo power encourages you to use weapons. This is all well and good, and the most effective adept, but i prefer to use powers and biotic combos on my adept, even though it's not as fast, it just feels right.

Also, does warp ammo get the extra boost against a warp'd enemy? (so someone whose health isn't regenerating?) If it's any biotic affect then it is even better, but it could be only biotically ragdolled enemies. Not at home now so i can't test.

Come to think of it, I don't believe I even used my Adept bonus power, whatever it was. I chose the extra ammo power for my Engineer, and didn't use any on my Adept. I just used squad ammo skills on my Adept.

I had problems with the Derelict Collector Ship mission myself for a while. I'd complete Horizon, then do a Recruitment mission (usually Tali's), then get thrown into the Collector Ship mission. It screwed me over quite a bit.

What I've started doing is only completing story missions. This allows me to pick up all of the squad-mates, and leaves a few extra missions besides. It's proven to be much better than the way I'd been doing it. Even if the Collector Platform fight is still a b*tch.

It is. If you've got the Arc Projector though that  really makes short work of the platforms  Still died a few times, but that was me just not quite dodging Scion Shockwave in time.

I use energy drain. The ship is triggered after five or six missions I believe.
