Do you have quantitative evidence to back up that claim? I've met some pretty enigmatic thieves in my time.

Dah, the same was said about Zaeed, and yet only two people in the game had an O-**** moment when seeing him.

So shes puzzling and hard to comprehend?...sounds like every single women in the entire galaxy.

Is she actually a good theif? And assuming she is..what difference will there be between her and Tali? I mean Tali is basically ME closest thing to a Thief role.

Speaking of ages...Miranda is supposed to be 35!?

Okay, I guess some of info of the official site should taken with a grain of salt?

I'd say it makes sense given what she has accomplished within the Cerberus organization. There are brilliant and talented people everywhere you go, but few have the qualities to be a leader. To be trusted with overlooking a four billion-credit medical project is no joke, and 35 is still rather young (in human years) for that role.

25? You guys really know how to take a bad idea and run away with it.

I still have hope for your company, though it is dwindeling fast, very fast.
Keep up this crap and your fan base will be 12 year old dropouts.
They don't buy tomany games do they?

I'm thinking the same thing, but I suppose that could depend on how Kasumi's character turns out. She can simply be an incredibly skillful thief, without the wisdom and maturity an ordinary person would have gained in reaching this level of prestige. For example, we hear of child prodigies and teenaged olympians all the time, though we can't assume too much from them emotionally.

Just a curious thought, since I don't really get why her age matters so much.

How many stories have teen heroes or young people with incredible skills? Can't put a number to them, but from things I've read/watched/played - very many. I don't recall not enjoying any of the stories that contained youthful heroes/skilled individuals.

I prefer 12 year old dropouts over uptight ****s who take video games too serious for their own good (and I bet BioWare does too), thank you very much.

My Point, since it obviously escaped you was, how in holy hell are you the most enigmatic anything at 25?
If bioware thinks that they will sell many games to the 12 y/o dropout croud then I'm betting that they won't be in business to awful long.

Perhaps if they would have stated in her bio that she was some sort of prodigy or savant like the poster above has stated. But no, they tried to make it out like she started stealing simalac from the other new-borns at her hospital of birth. To only continue her career by stealing lollies from the other kids at headstart.

Troll sense tingling...

Seriously though, why does it matter so very much? It's a game, some people may have ages that contradict the specific way that you view things. Just enjoy a good game and ignore reality.

That plus she has genetic enhancements. She even tells Shepard that her enhancements slow her aging, and she will likely live a lot longer than an "ordinary" human, so it makes that she would look younger than she actually is.

As for Kasumi's age, professional thieves do start out young. Like in Oliver Twist, the Artful Dodger was like, what, 14, and he was already a pro.

Yeah, though I believe it's different for Mass Effect because they've "tried" [a key word] to keep things as realistic as possible. Many fictional stories and games do feature young talented individuals (supposedly, trying to reach a younger audience), but it often demands a suspension of disbelief. Not everyone is precocious like Artemis Fowl. [At this point, you're trying to recruit the best darn specialists in the entire intergalatic systems.] When the human age limit reaches further and further down the line, "30", "40" or "50" is practically a new-born spourt. There is still 2/3rds of their life left!

True enough, but maybe we're dealing with an "Artemis Fowl" thief? =P

I'm just not seeing this as a problem and that BW is trying to cater to, as was said "12 year-old dropouts" - a little far on insulting no? But I don't intend to argue about it, I just don't understand; maybe I'm just a little too used to young characters.

Admittedly the 12 y/o remark was a bit..strong.

The point that I have been trying to make is Bioware has been at the very pinnacle of game making for many a year now. They used to be known for making very in depth and thought provoking characters. This past trend of great characters seems to be replaced with so much fluff, for lack of a better word. Because of which I believe they are letting themselves down and their fan base along with them.

And with a thief...now we got the standard band of RPG team wrapped up.

Wonder how much it'd cost, though.

In this case, can we clone her? Think of all that brainpower Shepard has at their disposal! :bandit:

----

Young, brilliant minds are pretty much everywhere in the media: movies, novels, comics, etc. Name a genre, they have them. So I really wouldn't be surprised if most of us are accustomed to that type of thing. It's very understandable.

In the realm of fiction, where there's a higher concentration of younger fans, it'd be cool for them to imagine what it is like to command massive-sized fleets and armies into battle, or be a scientist on the verge of a medical breakthrough. Popular culture tends to focus more on the youth (perhaps, idealizing them), and I think that's why most protagonists are 25 and under.

Definiteiy. Professions like computer programming, 3D modeling and art comes to  mind. To throw in the description "enigmatic" puts her on a different plane, however. Avoiding capture from multiple enimes, with presumably separate capturing techniques, requires a litlte more skill than the act of thieving itself.

For us, most sites are estimating the Kasumi DLC to be around 7 US dollars. I'm not sure if that's the official price.

It has been mentioned before. They are Garrus (because he is considered a secret to new players) and Legion.

Hasn't it already been established - several times I might add - that she is not an LI? Zaeed esque dialogue does not leave much room for romancing.

If you really want it to happen, write fanfiction. Or read fanfiction when it pops up.

Has it not been established that my post is satricial in nature to those who want a LI and threathen Bioware? angry fans don't leave much room for humor.

Goto? is that a referance to G0-T0 from kotor 2?

My thought exactly...

And her hood is somewhat very similar to Visas' one in Kotor 2 as well...

yes but keep in mind that kotor2 was obsidian and if I'm not mistaken, bioware didn't have much to do with kotor 2.

Honestly, I havent seen anyone b-ing about she not being LI. A lot of people do ask about it over and over, but complains are mostly about lack of proper dialog and basically her working just like Zaeed, most likely making her just an empty NPC with no real point in your crew.

Properly designed and fleshed out character that feels like part of your crew doesnt equal to LI.
