I was just listening to Tali's soundtrack song and looking through the comments when I saw an interesting comment. Someone suggested that the the Dholen's interior is changing so fast is because the Reaper's are changing it. I did some digging and began formulating some crazy ideas. 

Okay for starters Eezo, or element zero, is needed to produce faster-then-light space travel. Eezo is generated when solid matter is affected by the energy of a star going supernova. Alright now think of this, Shepard stopped Sovereign from opening the Citadel for the other Reapers. Because of that, the Citadel can no longer be used as a portal for Reapers coming from dark space. What if the Reapers are somehow manipulating Dholen to go supernova and release massive amounts of Eezo opening a corridor to dark space? With the massive amount of eezo released, a large enough mass effect field with low enough mass, like what a relay allows, could allow the Reapers to come through. This could also possibly explain the large amount of Geth platforms being built on Haestrom. There the Heretics Legion speaks of, who are following the Reapers and who specifically followed Sovereign, could be massing to assist the Reapers when they come through the corridor. 

If your questioning my reasoning just go look up everything in the Mass Effect wiki. I probably didn't do a amazing job of explaining it so to sum it up, the Reapers are going to create a mass effect field, the kind relays produce, by blowing up Dholen! I can't believe it but this seriously sound reasonable. Think of the multiple times the game referenced dark energy and Dholen. It may be Bioware's way of hinting at what's going to happen.
