I've been looking around for some scripting tutorials, without any luck. I'm guessing most of the non-cutscene enemy movement events (such as patrols) are done with scripting and waypoints (rather than just entities)? Are there any tutorials for this? I've checked wiki but it's mostly focusing on custom classes, spells et cetera.

One thing I'm trying to achieve now is to have a spider "web itself down", run a few meters and "web itself up" again (this happens during Orzammar chain, Orthan Thaig or something I believe). I've found parts of the script(s) used, but the lack of basic understanding of the structure doesn't get me very far (how does the game entities communicate with the scripts and so forth).

Are there any tutorials that go in-depth on this kind of stuff?

Checkout this WIKI page for ambient movement. May be what you're looking for.
