I have noticed a trend among some recent games that really pisses me off. I am referring to the almost indecipherable text that is too small to read. I've seen this annoying text in Dead Space, Bioshock 2, Saints Row 1, and Mass Effect 2, ESPECIALLY Mass Effect 2. Some people tell me that the games were designed to be played on HDTVs. Whether this is true or not, it does not matter. I have a huge HDTV and I still have to use a magnifying glass to read the objective.
Does this drive anybody else crazy? Is there anybody I can contact to let them know that they are causing me to go blind?
Why are recent games being plagued by VERY SMALL TEXT?!?

its really awful. i played most of ME2 inches from the tv, as opposed to my usual spot a couple feet away.

pro-tip: attach magnifying glass to your eyes with sticky tape to increase your reading pleasure.

The ME2 and Dragon Age text is eye-strainingly tiny on a small, standard TV for me, but on a big fat HDTV it looks fine.
I have impeccable peepers, though.

Celrath, the text is hard to read no matter what distance I sit from the TV.

[size=3]I don't know what you are talking about[/size]
Edit: hat statement would have been funnier if this bad would accept standard BBCode size parameters

Mine is a SONY LCD HDTV. 36 inches by 20 approx. I am too lazy to check the exact measurements.

I usually play console games on my 19" flat screen tv. Mass Effect 1 was easy enough to read, but ME2 is harder to read, I think it is because of all the lighting or something that makes the text hard to read during some scenes, and orange text with an orange background for loading screens? I could still read it, but I had to look closely.
I'm getting used to all the tiny text meant for large HD tvs, but it is still annoying that they went that route. Subtitles are meant to be read, not be so tiny to avoid standing out in a scene, I remember a thread earlier about a deaf player being disappointed with the subtitles in ME2 since they weren't as easily readable as previous games.

Higher resolutions make for smaller text.
