I read somewhere that there will be a new SMG with the Kasumi DLC.
Will it be a collector-ship uber SMG, or available to the whole squad?
What differentiates it from the two we already have?

We don't know yet, but I'm pretty sure it's called the Locust SMG.

well the new shotgun was the only one really worth using & the collecter ship weapons were arguably the best of there class so I for one am hoping for the same here.

The Locust SMG.
We don't really have much info on it, and I doubt it will count as an "Uber" weapon like the Claymore, Widow, and Revenant.
Speaking of which, they SHOULD make an Uber Submachine Gun and Uber Pistol, so every class can have a choice in carrying an awesome weapon.

For every class but the Soldier? Yes.
Infi's need it just as much as their SR's.
VG's might as well use it all the time unless you're doing the Charge+Eviscerator combo.
Every other class? Best weapon they've got.
But a better one couldn't hurt.
