So I'm working on my second run with a fresh character in ME1, with the intention of importing her into ME2 (I've already played through 2 once with my original character, but wanted to start fresh). But I'm wondering about something, and I'm having trouble finding a definitive answer. I don't need the experience from most of the sidequests in ME1 to reach level 60 (I did absolutely everything in my first run already), but I want to have all the story threads carry forward. If I skip some of the sidequests, will my import into ME2 preserve the outcomes of those quests from my first run through the game, or will it consider them uncompleted?

Uncomplete.
It depends on which "save" you import.
If you load up the one you are doing a "fresh" run on and you dont do them, then you didnt do them.
It loads what you did in that saved game, not what you did in ALL your save games.
