I've been playing quite a bit, Just about got all my companions, and I notice alot of different stuff! I love the custom color options for armor, but Are the seperate upgrades for each peice the only thing I find, armor wise?

As well as guns, I remembered mass effect 1 having alot of stuff, but in mass effect I've only found 2 or 3 of each weapon, is that why there are upgrades in the game? Been using the same assualt rifle for awhile now(has a 3 shot burst).

Also, The upgrades go for anyone, correct? I notice I don't get any upgradeable armor peices for my companions..

The scanning planet feature on planets, Is this worth doing? I havn't done it in awhile and was wondering if it could earn some good credits(I be broke!)?

To give an idea how far in I am, I just got the asari companion, and am finishing up my companions personal quests and such before I find the object I need for the mass relay thingy...

Also for something off topic, Garrus's comments about poping the heat sink are win !

I would like to refrain from spoilers, I was just hoping for some help in those catagories, Not sure just how many weapons are in the game, hate to think  I could be doing so much more damage if I could just find a new assualt rifle :).

I am unsure if you are using sarcasm or are simply challenged...

There are about 3 to 4 of each type of weapon. you make them stronger with the research terminal.

researched upgrades go for everyone unless specified otherwise. armor peices are for only Shep.

Scanning is for resources only, never credits. You need resources for research projects, nothing more.

Yes. But you can download the Cerbrus armor. It's a DLC you can get if you are logged in to the Cerberus Network. Check the ME2 website for more details on that.

Indeed, you only have 3 or 4 different weapons for every kind. Upgrading at the research bay on the Normandy is the way to make your weapons better.

Scanning planets gives you minerals, which are needed to buy upgrades at the research bay on the Normandy. Sometimes you'll find an anomalogy while scanning a planet. That means you can do a (small) N7 mission on that planet, like landing on a planet in ME1, but  without the anoying Mako.

Bioware decided to swap Mass Effect from being a shooter RPG to an RPG shooter, removing most of the inventory and skills so that numbskulls with low IQs and attention spans can enjoy the game more.

Need materials for important upgrades. Can't sell the minerals, unfortunately, and there's not enough money in the game to buy every upgrade unless you import Rich from ME1 or on second ME2 playthrough.

That single quote is worth forgiving the design team for introducing thermal clips.
