Greetings!
I just `downloaded DAO for the Mac.. I am running:
Mac OS X 10.6
2 Ghz Intel Core Duo
2 GB RAM
Radeonx1600
and it plays like crap...
VERY choppy/delayed/slowed etc etc ... I have taken all settings to the minimums and stills plays like crap..
It is version 1.01.9364.3318..
Any thoughts or ideas on how to make this game playable?

There are already a few threads about this problem. If you play some minutes and it gets better, then it means that the CPU gets too hot (a TransGaming problem) and slows down the system until the fans have kicked in properly. The solution is to install smcFanControl and crank the fans up to medium or high before starting DA:O.
I don't know if your specifications meet the requirements (it seems to run better on nVidia cards, and I don't know the Radeon x1600). Furthermore, quit everything else that may be running (like Skype, Internet browsers, otther processes that eat a lot of CPU...). Still, the Mac version seems to run slower as a principle than the PC version.

Your Mac barely meets the game's minimum requirements, so don't expect a much better performance than you already see. Sorry.

what resolution are you choosing? Try 1024x768...
