I gotta side with Han on this one. Han has spent the majority of his life dealing with the most underhanded people in the Galaxy and not only surviving but regularly coming out on top without military training of any kind, and let's not forget that he won his ship in a card game, Shepard was handed his on a silver platter...twice.

Plus he's got Chewbacca

Chewie got a moon dropped on him.  No, I'm not kidding.

Again, I have commented on this shooting first crap of an argument. It doesnt hold any water as someone DID just that to Shepard and it bounced off his shields. Shepard would then proceed to stomp Solo into the ground.

Han needs to get the combat into a ship. It is the only way he would win.

For all your attempts to discredit Solo and his universe, you DO realise the George likes his stupendously big numbers that have little to do with "hard science" physics? That blaster pistol that "Han shot first" with probably does an order of magnitude more damage than what kinetic or biotic barriers are rated for. :P

LOL I forgot Han's ever present enforcer. He'd pick up Shep in one hand, Grunt in the other, and make them hold hands so he could rip them apart with one move. Seriously.......

Ok, so he'd turn grunt over on his back and sort of kick him around like a turtle, don't ruin my fun.

Mass doesn't affect light, unless Shep's wearing black holes as shields. And Shep wasn't shot with a laser.

Han Solo would win because the Star Wars universe operates even further from reality than the Mass Effect universe. It has less rules of physics or laws that govern science so George Lucas would make Han pull off some wacky crap and get away with it just so he could have a new trilogy with lots of merchandising. I don't think Bioware's writers would sacrifice story for profits as easily. *crossed fingers*

On skill level, I'd give it to Shepard, he's/she's military, Han is a smuggler. Give me a break!

Sadly it is true. Star Wars works on insanely outlandish science. If the word "science" can even be used at some points.

Guns be they laser guns or heatsink pistols aside, Biotics vs Force aside. Pure bare knuckle fight, Shepard wins.

Actually mass bends light, hence blackholes sucking in light. If Shepard's Mass Effect field is strong enough but not too strong it'll curve the light away from him. Basics of relativity, man.

I'm not too sure about that... Shep seems to be limited to rifle-butting stuff.

Please note my use of "unless Shep's wearing black holes as shields". You'd need something with so much mass to bend light (not to mention that it would bend TOWARDS Shep), that getting shot would be the least of your worries.

A black hole would just suck the laser into Shepard. Shepard doesn't want or need that. If it's too weak the laser will just ignore the shield though.

I don't think anyone can call this match unless we know more about Shepard's shields.

A black hole wouldn't suck the laser into Shep, it would suck Shep, the laser, and the whole planet into itself. But anything with enough mass to bend light, if it wouldn't damage Shep (we're ignoring the fact that it would crush him/her under its weight atm), would bend it TOWARDS Shep, not away.

This just adds to what I was saying. The shield would have to be within a certain specification range to deflect blaster fire.

Well .. if Shep looks like this:

I'm going to have to go with Han. If not, I'm going to have to go with the N7 trained bad-ass. The scene on the Death Star where Han Solo chases the stormtroopers and then, running into the huge group of them runs away .... I'm pretty certain Shepard would just have killed them all just so he could see the look on Vader's face.

Thus would be more than a little epic, would it not? Let me set the scene:

Shep's in a firefight. He's taken damage to his traditional kinetic generator, so he's left with his experimental, highly dangerous "black hole shield" generator. His hardsuit HUD tells him his shields are back online.

Shep reloads his weapon, shoulders it and turns out of cover. The first round that flies his way...and...Shep implodes!

That depends on your outlook. Maybe imploding was part of Shepard's mission objectives...huh? How about that! Even Chuck Norris would be jealous, that's ballsy!

Ah yes...   "lasers".  We have dismissed these claims.

Shepard has been shot with particle beams on numerous occasions(or not, if you are particularly quick on the duck and cover).  Those do tear through shields pretty quick, but not instantaneously.  And blasters fire compressed energy, not light.  That's why the bolts travel slow enough for you to see them.

Let's see, Han would shoot first, which would bring shields down 20% or so, then Shepard would blow Han away. Han made the mistake of getting Shepard into combat. Seriously folks, Han has no tech, no shields, the more interesting question is how would Luke fare.

Commander Shepard would win because Star Wars is F'ing lame.
