Damn. I suspected as much since nobody who had played through the game mentioned her past the beginning. It's a pity though. She was the new companion i liked the most.

God damn you Loghain! First Ostagar, the Circle, Arl Eamon, the Landsmeet, and now you get to have a second in command and I don't? ARGGGH!

Agreed. I was looking forward to having her be the token female in my party. How terribly cliche for the earnest figure to be killed off - it's particularly unrefreshing.

This would be difficult for me to roleplay.

Are you serious? She always dies? That sounds like crap to me, why make a character that you can have for an hour then is gone?
Ever play Neverwinter Nights 2 (Obsidian Entertainment)?
Anyway, I haven't finished Awakenings yet, but it seems to me that Mhairi dies.

Agreed. Her death is very much a cliche. I guess she wasn't anti-establishment or dysfunctional enough to survive. I know if I do eventually weaken & splurge on this expansion I'll probably use the console/toolset to add her back in. No way am I going to let her die in -MY- fantasy...

As I recall, she didn't get a trailer dedicated to her.

And I mean come on, killing off the one person who has been looking forward to becoming a warden her whole life in the Joining? Yeah I get it, "Oh the irony! The very thing that she wanted to become her whole life ended up killing her!"
Sigh... come on Bioware, if you wanted to shock me early on you would have had Oghren die or something- just don't turn DA into 24 where they seem to enjoy killing off characters entirely too much.
