I have Chargen's, Pineapples Trees, and CC Tints and Tones, and I have since readded them without any conflicts/crashing.
Before installing Awakenings, I also patched from the Awakenings DvD on a "clean" install of DAO, just to make sure there were no corrupt files, residual mods, etc...I might have missed. No crashes since then.
I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit with an ATI Radeon 3870 x 2 HD, 4 gigs RAM. I updated both my video and audio drivers before installing Awakenings as well.
The problem started with the 1.03 patch even before Awakenings was released. Rolling back to 1.02 helped, BUT...you need 1.03 to install Awakenings, or else you will get a "failure to install" message.

Don't have any mods or high res, nothing special at all and since the updated patch the games crashes. Where was the testing?
has nothing to do with mods..I've removed all mine and it was no different in frequence.

Yep. Time and time again someone will chime in maybe its this... same answer as before it's the patch. How much longer must we wait for so much as a response from Bioware?

The cynical part of me says that we'll stay without Dragon Age at least this weekend. And surely most (if not all) of the next week

Correct and that is the issue though really. I don't think there is any doubt that the patch is causing problems, however the difficult part is that NOT everyone is affected by all the reported problems. Additionally, a few posts are indicating some folks are resolving the crashes by lowering resolution and/or removing mods. To confuse matters, some folks are reporting things as "bugs" but have existed or are not bugs (example DLC items, other than RtO, not transferring...FAQ explained this.
I think folks were just trying to toss out ideas based on experience both with DA:O and other other games. A few folks (myself included) have not experienced the crashes. The one thing that stood out was those reporting no problems were not running mods that altered/changed/overwrote game mechanics or files. Which explains why these people are saying remove the mods and try starting a NEW game to check for crashes before doing a uninstall/reinstall. Another thing that seems to be common in the reports are higher resolutions (particularly 1900 X ?). That's not saying other resolutions aren't having issues it's just what is being reported frequently in threads.)

Didnt crash before this patch. Crash always happens in a fight but no dif if i'm fighting 3 people or 15. Don't happen every fight. Thing is I can fight the same fight right after and not crash. so random as far as that works.
Been waiting for a fix or at least an answer from EA/Bio. This is starting to get old.
ME 2 runs perfect like DAO did before this patch. It's through steam so I can't unpatch it.

I noticed that for me the crashes occur only when I'm logged in the profile (inside the game).
When I'm logged out then there are no crashes (only sometimes and only upon exiting the game).
Can anybody else verify it?

I'll try it with my Sloth demon issue, along with playing in windowed mode instead of fullscreen (somebody said it should fix crashes, too), but I'm not optimist about that.

11 days of 1.03 and I've only seen one mod say that Bioware was looking into it. That's kinda worrying.
As I said in a previous post that is all they would respond with
Maybe the sloth demon found it's way into the office and the dev's all fell asleep on the job?

I know, when I buy a game, I always
look at requirement, if I meet the requirements, I expect the game which
is selling in stores to be working. Sitting at my computer looking at
this game, which I have been anticipating for months, gathering dusts
because its unplayable really ticks me off.
Exactly...
Great posts keep them coming!

16gig ram
ATI HD5870 (x2) - crossfire
Win7 system builders X64
i dont mean to brag, but black friday deals at new egg, i got this, my comp for about $800.
never had any problems with DAO, DAOA, ME1, or ME2.
From my expierence, i would say get rid of vista. regardless of 32 or 64, i HAD it on my laptop, and upgraded as soon as 7 came out.
All i have to say, is that Bioware is doing a great job. Sure there is problems, but it doesnt compare with the "red ring of death"
Awakenings was just launched, so give it some time
