Dragon Age Awakening failed installation

During the setup phase, it tries to install the 1.03 patch and it fails there.
It says "installation failed"
So i downloaded the patch manually from the website and that successfully install.
But when I tried the setup again, it fails again at the same spot
Is there any logfile that I can check to see where the installation fails?
My system is XP Home SP3
Intel COre 2 Duo 1.86
2GB Ram

EDIT: And strangely enough, running setup.exe in Win 2000 compatibility mode did do the trick. What on earth??!?

I can't seem to get past installing patch 1.03. Tried patching it seperately and that also fails.
Did i just spend $50 on an expansion that doesn't work?

I'm running Windows XP SP3
I had copied the CD to my desktop in a single folder named "DragonAge" (I don't know if this step was necessary)
I right clicked "Setup.exe" and clicked "Properties"
Then clicked on the tab "Compatibility"
Then checked "Run this Program in Compatibility Mode for" and selected "Windows 2000"
Then clicked OK.
Then doubleclicked Setup.exe, clicked all the next's and typed in my key again, and it is installing now.

Problem is, i'm working in a foreign city and have my been playing DA:O with a no cd launcher fix. Can't get the original file off my DVD, which is on my desk at home.
If anybody could be so kid as to upload the file somewhere, i will have your babies! Pretty please?

Oops, I take it back. I went to "computer" then "Dragon Age DvD," then "explore" then found "Set-up" then right clicked on "properties" and found "compatibility." I set it to Windows 2000 and now it is installing as I type.
However, what in the name of bits and bytes and almighty DOS is going on here?
