If the community got together and made a team of say 5-10 people they could recreate this entire expansion in the same time it took bioware to put this together. Jesus christ atleast let us load it into our original game? This is such a HUGE let down to me and it FEELS like it was just thrown together just to make a quick buck. Horrible.
Bioware loses major brownie points with me on this and ive been a fan of this companie for a very long time. Its starting to be all about the money now - screw the fans. EA is rubbing off on them. I refuse to purchase this crap id rather remake it my damn self with the toolset.
TAKE THE TIME TO MAKE IT RIGHT DONT RELEASE UNFINISHED GARBAGE TO YOUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS

On what you say:
It is obvious it was thrown in in a rush to make a quick buck. Can't blame them, they're a company who has to pay many employees and make a profit... in the end, it all comes down to that. DAO itself included.
About all the rest... I also agree... so far. It may all change when I've actually played it.
But a friend told me yesterday, "well, isn't it what TOB is to BG2"? I'd have to say, it probably is, so I'm still playing it. :-) You can't have BG2 without TOB in the end! :-)

I also saw a post confirming that RtO content transfers over as well.
When you say you want to load it into the original game; are you saying you want to be able to go back and forth between Origins and Awakening, or are you asking for something else - your wording made this unclear.
Modding is often much more satisfying - I hope you develop what you are looking for and perhaps others will join your effort.
I'm a person that has mixed feelings about EA, but a parent company will always have influence ... I just hope Bioware can survive and thrive in the long run.

It's an episode not an expansion. It doesnt tie into anything. Yes I want to create a brand new character to play 15 hours of content then never EVER again play it. Thats what I want to do. I really wouldnt be this mad if it didnt cost $40. its not worth the money. $20? fine. $40? for rushed content? no. its greed now and its just taking their reputation for granted.

EA can be just evil at times and at the same time, they do help to make some great games from the child companies. Hopefully, Bioware knows where to draw the line....

Why add romances when you will still have your old ones later and maybe options for new ones with awakening companions later, like bioware has done with mass effect ect. (I'd include baldurs gate but thats old news
Awakening will be an awesome carry on even with your relationships missing, but you also got to remember your old friends as mentioned in the epilogue and end conversations are doing some of there own things.
If you refuse to buy it, ok and all i can say is. Zullen we gaan zuipen in plaats? A line i would probably love to hear oghren say.

Well you got to remember that as they said during an interview they have been working on this expansion for a year before they announced it, So its not really rushed just they been timing the games to come out so people dont "forget" the prevoius.

honestly i wouldve been happy with just adding a map marker on old saves but to seperate the entire thing just makes it feel like nothing is even connected... even if you 'import' a character. its an episode thats all im saying and im more dissapointed at just that than anything else.
honestly i hate even talking to my party members its annoying seeing those same stories on a 2nd or 3rd playthrough but you have to go through it to progress that character. im not even that upset over the lack of a relationship. its just the obvious corners that were cut that get to me and even if it was in the works for a year before it was announced it still feels rushed.

Ehhh I'm not sure why everyone wants this game to be a part of origins. The archdeamon is dead, why would I want to go back and save the tower if the dragon is dead?
So you make a new PC, one from another country, just to play it, and then you want to magicly go back in time to origins so you can do what? change the ending of Origins? The idea is that it occurs AFTER the archdemon is dead.
It is expanding on the *ending* the ENDING. You die and make a new warden and it fits for say, your PC died, or you just want to see what it's like from another POV, otherwise you are making your 20-100 hour game a 35-130 hour game.
If you don't want to buy it, dont. If you want to whine about why you can't load it into origins, use that brain of yours. I don't want to be abe to go and one second have the demon be dead, level up and then timeline bend so I can build armies again and try to kill Howe... again. I want people to stay dead. No re-raise or Auto-life please. And I'm sure if you thought of it that way you wouldn't want to go Slidders on us either.
DLC that changes things for Origins is something I want as well, but I like the idea of having more things to do AFTER the Big Bad lies defeated.

In play.com right now is at 20 euros. I've seen it at 17 euros in cdwow.nl.
I do understand the predicament, really. I wouldn't buy it at all unless at 17 euros, but to pay 30 for it... NAW! (Luckily, I'm press, so I'm not spending a cent on it.)
However, what I meant was that you can't really judge a a game by what other people how haven't even played it yet say about it (sometimes you can't even judge a game based on press reviews, but that's another story *rolleyes*).
So in the end, at least for me, I can say that the premise of it all sounds crappy. I'll know for sure if I'm wrong when I've played it, though. :-)
Hopefully you find a discount store or a promotion, or you can just wait and see how things develop and the price lowers in some months.
