You don't understand these kind of posts? Are you slow in any way? It is like asking you, why you bother posting here at all or replying to this post.
Let me help you out here and explain. If you really liked something you would come back here and tell us how great it was. Well if you spent 40 $ and you really hated it, you would come here and tell us how bad it was. This is called customer feedback. And here is another very important little fact that big companies want you to forget. CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT.
The fact you don't agree with original poster does not mean you should be negative to his belives. Now go and play DAO and hopefuly you love it.

Why is this even an issue? He stated he wouldn't buy it and gave reasons. Instead of arguing or agreeing with him, just nod and go on to the next topic. Posting that he isn't going to buy it just proves it was an attention grabber and really is only for himself and not for Bioware or EA.
Sorry you don't like a game you have never played. Rest assured that the rest of us who do get it will enjoy it for it's own values.
And you sir assume that somehow in this magic world, what you say counts and matters. Why don't YOU ignore this post and go to the next post and the rest of us can continue the discussion. And do not put "the rest of us in the same dark tunnel you traveling through.

You think the expansion sucks? Fine. Play it. If it changes your mind, buy it - if not - don't play it. Fairly simple.
Advocating piracy....tsk tsk.
Sadly it seems to be the only way to really get an idea of how good or bad a game is these days.

the thing im guessing is the fact that a lot of the ending, apart from certain characters big plot points about who rules etc and whether you kill your allies in the first game, a lot of the ending is done in text, something they probably bashed out in twenty minutes when they finally finished the game. i'm not technically minded, but going back with all this plot decisions would of been MASSIVE, and probably dragged this expansion out another six months...
From what little I understand about the Toolset, I respectfully
disagree.
Until I read this post, I just assumed that Awakening was
run inside the original game world--why wouldn't it be? I mean if some guy off
the street can create a whole dungeon and everything else as a module inside
the game world, isn't Awakening just another really big module with new
resources? Well, I guess it isn't. If what I read here is true.
There is no new area that becomes available inside Fereldan
that can you travel to that further allows you access to a new Oralis map.
Remember how we got to the deep roads?
Why didn't the Awakening module just inherit the original
game world resources and add new ones?

We tend to become loyal customers and become bitterly disapointed when our favorite company takes adventange of our trust.
2 Some of us, ask our mom or dad to buy stuff, whatever is new and cool whatever to make us happy. We dont know the value of a dollar and we never may. We buy **** cause we can good or bad. We also ignore reason it does not affect us.
For # 2 Let me make it simple.

First of all, aside from importing a character from the original game, this 'expansion' has absolutely nothing to do with the original game. Yes, the storylines intertwine, but skills, companions, and even officially released DLC doesnt go back at all to the original story. The 'expansion' isnt even loaded into the orignal game at all.
If the community got together and made a team of say 5-10 people they could recreate this entire expansion in the same time it took bioware to put this together. Jesus christ atleast let us load it into our original game? This is such a HUGE let down to me and it FEELS like it was just thrown together just to make a quick buck. Horrible.
Bioware loses major brownie points with me on this and ive been a fan of this companie for a very long time. Its starting to be all about the money now - screw the fans. EA is rubbing off on them. I refuse to purchase this crap id rather remake it my damn self with the toolset.
TAKE THE TIME TO MAKE IT RIGHT DONT RELEASE UNFINISHED GARBAGE TO YOUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS

Ahh..let me correct your misinformation..I have worked for MANY years in customer service...and NO the customer is NOT always right...lets be clear about that from the get-go.
The entitlement..for some of these seems to be..that any abuse, any time that they dish out to a "public servant" or a waitress..or whomever is perfectly alright..even if incoherent, nonsensical to boot.
Making large scenes in restaurants or other places of business (ie massive tantrums) does not make that customer "right" or always "right". It makes them look rather foolish..and possibly they need to go back to their parents for training in some vastly needed social graces.
Been there witnessed this sort of stuff....so NO ..the customer is definitely not always right.

LOL, and in the end, it's a freaking hobby. And getting emotionally invested in a company? Way to go reasonable and wise adult!
Your 2nd point is also hi-larious because most brats like that probably aren't even into Dragon Age, let alone go cry to mommy and daddy to pay for this game. But I'm generalizing aren't I, how misbehavin' of me.

You say "emotionaly invested" is diffrent from loyal customer and customer trust. Maybe you should put down DAO and read a book. You know get better vocab and all. So you can understand what people are talking about.
Maybe you are emotionaly attached to this game in some distant and perverted way. It happens there is a term for that which I do not remember or care to look.

At the same time I will say this: It starts out "tamer" than what I was used to in Origins, but that might be because I am playing on normal mode at the moment.
Next run I am going to up the ante and see how that works out.
I am not the type to rush through and overlook stuff...I am the completionist type..and I have 8 characters to do that with. We'll see.
But something I have noticed from years of playing games online is this: The most vocal and the most quick to post ..are usually the bashers.
So I am going to take all this with a grain of salt..and wait for more reasoned ..coherent explanations about what exactly..people like or don't like about this expansion.
Right now..I look around this forum and all I see is a bunch of hysteria.....pretty much.

Only because I am still trying to find a way to do a face swap that won't cause the toolset to read save's as gff.
Other then the toolset issue atm I have no relevant reason to state why DA:A sucks.

I don't know... there is no money if there is no customer, regardless if he causes a scene, and then again... most people don't really behave that way, and some of the people here are actually expressing real concern, and giving notice to thing that bother them, if you care to read through anyway.

There is "romance" of a sort...my dalish elf encountered her "love interest: But at the same time, she had business to attend to..so there was a cutscene some endearments spoken...then that person went off on their pressing business and I went off to deal with the waiting nobility.
Cutscene was maybe...5 minutes? I don't know didn't time it. But I think that you get so busy getting things done..that yes the romance thing does fall into the background.
But we were warned about this before release..cameo appearances only. So we shouldn't be expecting more than what was stated..really?
There are a TON of quests to do, places to explore..darkspawn to fight..new armor, new weapons.. some familiar faces..and party talk as you are running around doing stuff. And that is all at 4 hours in.
Take what is said on this forums TODAY..with a grain of salt..there's always going to be an element of hysteria ..first day of release, til people settle down and realize that things are not as bad as they are attempting to portray.
Play the expansion, make your own mind up.....thats all I have to say.

MOST people don't...but the ones that do...leave a large dark impression...hehehe
I've read whats said..most of it seems like..digging heels in and refusing to accept any changes. Period.
I think that time will pass and things will settle down, then we'll get better answers on whats wrong or not wrong..
As for customers..there are always customers...and you can refuse service to the more obnoxious ones, stop them from ever crossing the threshold of your business again. I have..there is no excuse for bad or rude behavior..none. Plus they aren't the only ones on the premises...you have to think about the others..that aren't causing problems but do need your help with a purchase or whatever.

... at least I hope so :/ maybe I'm too optimist and romantic too. Who knows?
But! The point is... with the epilogue and the storyline and the time/space thing... romances would be just... inappropriate, if I can say. Especially with the *smile* surprise at the end of the game. Let's say you can see some good old names... some that could make you... smile?

I have no problem with people 'having complaints with the bugs. Or refusing to buy the game for valid reasons. But getting all righteous at a company that makes games which is a hobby and is serious business (unless you know, it's you're making a living in the industry) tickles me funny.

I think you skiped 5 pages and missed my point? No worries I know what A.D.D is like. Let me do it up just for you. I talked about how disconnected the game is and buggy not about romance, that was part of how disconnected it felt from the original story.
But here is one more just for you cause you are so asking for it. "Yes I cracked indeed, can't make love to my virtual girlfriend, its a shame they let me down. I want my money back." Cheers

Didn't buy this expansion yet, I'm going to wait until the price dropped. 40 bucks for 15 hours gameplay and 2GB expansion is too much for me furthermore, I've watched the gamespot review about how uninteresting the new characters, that add how $40 doesn't worth it. I don't care about the romance stuff. But, let put that aside, the bottomline is I'm going to get this game after the price dropped, and maybe after the devs fix some of those annoying bugs like visuals and pickpocket stuff.
Its actually 3 or 4 gigs on your harddrive...
I know I weighed it on my bathroom scale..to make sure I got my money's worth .
