Did you guys and gals realise that the xbox version of Far Cry 2 had a game breaking bug in which the save files became corrupted? All you needed to do was reach a certain % of completion, making it impossible to finish the game for lots of people. Ironically, a patch came out to fix the problem a full SIX months after the game was released (but obviously, nobody even gave a flying toss for the game anymore by that time).

I'm just saying... DA:O has been out now for 4 months, maybe they'll patch it in about another two, when everybody's moved on. Give it hope? x)

*Cough*

I've lost all hope for a fix by now, it's obvious that they don't care about fixing this game for us, they avoid these threads like the plague. They must be too busy sitting back counting the money we've given them and thinking up more dlc/expansions to get more.
I mean if one of the devs would come on the thread once in a while and at least tell us that they are working to fix things, or give us an update on patches etc it wouldn't be that bad, but from the complete lack of any kind of response to the problems in the forums here it's obvious they want to ignore the problems and pretend they don't exist. Well, if a patch comes out in 2 months, great. It just means I can buy Awakenings for a lot cheaper in a bargain bin at that time.

(sigh) I really wanted to like Awakenings, but it was a huge letdown. And the bugs in DA:O are still there. Even though I enjoyed the story of DA:O immensely, it still felt like us console users got a dumb-downed interface that doesn't work right. I have given up hope, and expect Bioware will jsut pump out more DLCs to bilk us out of our money until DA2 comes out before its properly tested. I guess it was just a matter of time before Bioware became completely corrupted by EA. Well, no tears. Now that the sun is shining again and spring is around the corner, I can forget about gaming for a while and enjoy the outdoors.

A simple "we're working on it," would suffice.. Instead, they completely ignore us, and only respond in topics that gushing with praise. These devs are really emotionally needy.

There is a dev in these forums working on graphic issues with awakening, like armor not looking correct or words showing up on your head that aren't suppose to be there, but fixing issue with game play is not a priority. Turning in my copies of mass effect, mass effect 2 and dragon age origins tomorrow to get FFXIII and putting a pre-purchase on Alpha Protocol. Never buying another Bioware product again until they leave EA.

:D I've been playing FFXIII, my first FF game, sort of (I played a bit of X-2 - God-awful - and a bit of IX - seemed really good until my brother saved over my game and gave the disc back to the guy he borrowed it from). I quite like it, which is a shame because it means I'm now less likely than ever to pass the final year of my degree course.

Oh, and BioWare will likely never leave EA, since EA now owns them.

Well, I'll be damned, I just might have to strike my name from this list.

Not sure if you guys saw but today we had a Dev, Mr. Lang, in the Tech forum responding to a number of the issues we're having. No confirmation on when or if we'll have any fixes but the fact that he was in here and trying to help was a very encouraging sign IMO.

We just might get some good fixes after all.

I wish I could share your optimism, but we had Victor respond once a few months ago and nothing was done. Image IPB
I'll believe it when I see it as far as fixes go, but I'm very skeptical from what I've seen so far. Most of these bugs have been there from the start and they have to have known about them for months. I blame EA more than Bioware though, Bioware is just their cash cow for the moment and they will get every penny they can out of them before tossing them aside. Whether they have no time for fixes or just aren't allowed, my guess is that all efforts are being put into a sequel. Simply saying that they will look into fixing things, once again, just doesn't do it for me, more info would be a good start like what exactlt they are looking into, and even a rough timeframe of when to expect a patch. Still, a small part of me has some hope that this game will be fixed one day, it just may be too little, too late for a lot of people.

I find it weird that there are quests that won't show up. A buggy game, glitches yes, but quests that are missing entirely or never finish? Come on.

FFXIII is fun especially once you get to the open area, the game is quite linear though for the first half or so, but it's got a good story and interesting battle system. (kinda like X-2 had)
FFVII is a classic, I still love that game outdated graphics and all, plus it's a game I can actually play on my ancient pc. Image IPB

REFUSE TO SIGN/NOT SIGNED.

I am honestly surprised that everyone is complaining about this. True, the game has issues (and more than most other games), but do they outweigh the good parts of the game? In a word, no. We all knew that the game was going to optimized for the PC (it IS based off of Neverwinter Nights).

This is a game about story and choice, not about perfect gameplay. If you don't like the game, don't buy it. You should play the game to have fun. Don't waste my time complaining on the forums. I understand that the game isn't great, but you need to learn to look beyond the weaker parts of the game and accept the game for what it is.

I for one have not given up hope. While Bioware may have neglected us 360 owners a bit, it must be remembered that they are an extremely large company with multiple projects, and as such they have to choose what to work on.

I am not bashing anyone or trying to start a flame war, merely sharing my thoughts. I ask that you respect my opinion on this matter.

Hmm, losing 6 characters and over 250 hours of gameplay does pretty much outweigh the good parts, add to that the complete and utter lack of any fix for the many bugs and once again the bad starts to outweigh the good. Don't get me wrong, it's a good game, but the support has been non-existant to say the least, we don't even have patches from three months ago.
I don't see how you can be surprised by people being upset, as you said it's a story about choice, but when the choices you want can't be made or are made obsolete by bugs it really takes away from the story. Orzamaar for example, trying to play both sides will bug the quest so it can never be finished, that's one character completely ruined since you can never finish the game. The dex bug (which has had a fix for three months) make building a dex rogue useless which also makes your ranged damage suck, that's a complete character build unusable, and of course the ending is glitched and Alistar is king when he shouldn't be in a lot of cases or your noble isn't even recognized as Anora's consort. All these bugs limit and take away from the story and your character making some choices you make mean absolutely nothing.
As for wasting your time, that is simply from your choice to read the posts here and no one elses fault, I mean the title of the thread "Sign here if you've given up hope for a fixed version of Dragon Age Origins" says it all. What exactly did you expect to find on this thread if not posts from people fed up with the lack of support? In 4+ months all they've done is made more dlc and an expansion to get more money without fixing anything, us thinking that there will be no fix is based on their actions to date.

You really should give FF VII a whirl, incredible story IMO and the best FF game out there. Keep in mind that the graphics are old though, it does'nt bother me in the least but they are definitely dated..

You may not be clued in on a couple of things perhaps.

There are multiple story breaking and choice breaking bugs in the ending, that really nulify your argument about enjoying the story. I don't care about a Dex Rogue or whatever, that's small potatoes. I do care about the game ignoring my choices due to a glitch and giving me endings that aren't based on my choices, that then effect Awakenings.

Also, the save game glitch is extremely... EXTREMELY bad. It's not something you need to look past. If you lose 40+ hours of gameplay and lose a character due to a glitch, I'm sure you'll be on these forums complaining too.
