 So, I pre-ordered this a day or two after it became available on steam. Am I seriously going to have to wait 5 hours for the thing to unlock, or am I just too dumb to figure out how to get it to install?

I've heard it will unlock at 10:00 am PST, 12 noon or not until tomorrow ... so idk. I switched from Steam because they keep treating expansions as DLC requiring you to have everything through them to run it.

Yeah, it's unfortunate that I have it on Steam. It says the game will unlock in 5 hours, and that seems more than just a little bit ridiculous to me, since I could just walk to walmart and pick up a copy in half that time. Sadly, I've already dropped the money on steam, and have to deal with their crap.

I have 2 questions:

- Anyone knows if a PC disk version will be compatible with the Steam version?



- In what directory is the expansion actually installed? Is it in the game directory, the addons directory or it's own directory? I'm having a bit of trouble with main disk space :s

If you purchased with Steam in North America, it unlocks this morning. If you purchased livign outsied NA, it unlocks at Global launch in 2 days.

I don't know answers to your other questions yet, but I am looking for answers. Stay tuned.

Steam Version = Exclusive. I did not order either Origins or Awakening from them, but they most likely will have it installed in the /Steam/SteamApps/Shared directory. They treat it like it was DLC.

Weird. My steam is telling me 5 hours. Oh well. I'll be slightly less annoyed with the guys over at steam if it actually unlocks in an hour and a half instead of five. Although I suppose if I were a reasonable human being, the wait time wouldn't be an issue. Unfortunately for them, I am not >=(

To download, yes. To Purchase or unlock, no.  (At least legally:unsure:).

 It's kinda strange to release the game 2 days later for european Steam users... I don't see the point

You do realize Steam doesn't control the unlock time right?

All of the world but N/A is on the 18th. So a lot of us are waiting - me included.

At 10 am? Steam tells me Awakenings unlocks in about 4 hours or noon PST.

sometimes Steam does delay the unlock from the "official" time. E:TW was like this, maybe Awakenings is as well.

I would greatly like to know the answer to this as well Chris, as I bought off Origins Steam and I'd like to know if I have more options on pricing than Steam's price.

For what it's worth:

There have been other threads wondering the same thing and general consensus is that you will likely need Steam Awakening if you have Steam Origins.  The only thing Steam says on it's page for Awakenings is that Steam Awakening requires Steam Origins, which is not quite the same thing if you think it through.

I too don't see a point in delaying the release of digital copies of DA:A for the rest of the world, especially considering the fact, that "hard" copies are available in shops today (in Europe)



I'd like to ask if there will be others in-game languages (subtitles) provided in digital copies than english?

I had it pre-ordered on steam and it was showing up until 2 hours ago it vanished, i have the billing info from paypal and the steam transactions show i own it. yet its no longer there? I started DAO thinking that it might be in there or something, but my DLC has all the stuff for DAO and no awakening.

The Steam version is available now for North American customers. If you are outside North America, you need to wait until it unlocks later this week.

If you are having touble with teh NA Steam release, please contact Steam support for assistance as I have verified it is availabel and working correctly.

Nevermind Issue Resolved i feel like a complete idiot now. i kept looking in the DLC and read on a thread it became its own game.... lol sorry to annoy everyone

Awakening will unlock at the 18th for me, but when I look at the site right now there is no cooldown. But don't give me an option to pre-load. The game will unlock tomorow. Should't the pre-load be available?
