Well it is listed on steam store page as "new release", but still "not yet released" in game library...

Yeah makes me sick  still no Game or info.
I could have got it from the store in town ,but i thought let's keep it together on Steam..:?

make you wonder WHY the hell i or we will ever Pre-Purchase a thing on Steam without some (bonus) items..at least
it may seem stupid to do this but i just had to

In their movies it's March 19th for Europe. So I guess we'll have to wait for tomorrow :-).

Allthough, I wonder why I could have bought it in the store today already.

Where does it say that? All it says is "OUT NOW"

Go to the bioware / Dragon Age Origins Awakening homepage, there you'll find it in the media section.
http://dragonage.bio...gallery/videos/
There watch the movie to "Nathaniel Howe"

In the end of the movie, you'll get the two release dates: North America with 16th, and Europe with 19th.

I can't believe it, on top of being completely unreliable as for release dates, I read on the forum that some people got their copy of Awakenings 25% cheaper than what I paid on Steam (and they were able to download it, too). I'm even happier :crying:

Come on. Do we really have to watch Bioware promotional videos to finally know when the game we pre-purchased will be released ???

It's getting ridiculous.

How about examining every item ingame (including health poultices), to find that one of them bears the inscription : "Awakening released on march 29, whatever Steam says" ? Let's be serious here.

First of all, keep your attitude towards me. There's no reason to pull information I give into dirt when I actually post information which helps getting the release date.
The mistake is here at STEAM, and you only looking there. BioWare/EA has no fault to take if STEAM is not properly announcing the title.
Anyway, it seems as if there has been confusion about the release, since even in Europe they sell retail boxes, what's very likely unwanted by BioWare.
Sad - still - is, that North America is first in this case. Why ever this could be, because it shouldn't be a problem starting out worldwide within one day, and not having 3 days break.

Even if the release date is the 19th... its been that for 2 hours where I am.

And it was on sale in shops here yesterday morning.

I think we should have been told if we would not get our copy of pre-order when everyone else could. (then we wouldn't have bothered pre-ordering)

Also, I think steam has probably worked out by now that some people may be unhappy....

And yet they tell us nothing about whats going on, I think that adds to the insult myself.

When can I get my game?

I guess the "rest of the world" or "2nd class people" to all americans will get the release on the 19th european time, very likely GMT or CEST, and I'd not even be sure about it being available at 00:00, but rather in the morning hours of the 19th.

I've always been happy with the steam and buying games in steam, as I own 71 games there. Allthough, this pre-purchase without a release date published by steam makes me a bit angry. I am european, and I think I do have the right to be informed by them. They're a professional company, I pay them money, so I expect professional work of them.

Heh, it shows up in New Releases on the Steam front page saying "Released 18 March", the "My Games" list says "not yet released". I've been troll'd.

The funny thing is that the release date on the Steam page is the 18th. On the official EA page the release date is also the 18th...

And still "not yet available". I'm loosing my patience...

Well it should be out. Steam store page says:

Title: Dragon Age™: Origins Awakening

Genre: RPG

Developer: BioWare

Publisher: Electronic Arts

Release Date: 18 Mar 2010

Languages: English

The Steam Storage Page is contradictive. On the one hand is exactly sais what aarne10 stated, but on the other hand it says "pre order" instead of "buy". Seems steam doesn't know what to tell...

Honestly I don't give a damn who's to blame. The only thing I see is that I paid for a game that everyone can buy in a store today, and I have no idea when I'll be able to get it.

It's a very rude way of dealing with customers, especially when customers could very well have chosen the pirate/free path. There is no information on the Bioware site, and no information on the Steam site.

Strangely, when it came to entering my billing information, everything went nice and smooth, and I didn't have to wait for a single minute ;)

Yeah this is what has been buggin me too, also if you go onto the new releases page it says "Released: 18 mar 2008"

I'm pretty sure its a misunderstanding between steam and EA/Bioware but still incredibly frustrating that I have wasted 3/4rs of a day already restarting steam in the little hope that the game is out... But seriously all I want is a confirmation of when, even if it is tomorrow, just to damn know so I won't waste any more of my time I could be doing somethign worthwhile instead of this crap <_<

Oh, well the German Dragon Age Homepage says this :

Dragon Age: Awakening: Ab heute erhältlich!

what literally means, dragon age available today! But not for steam customers... that had pre purchased... no more steam for me!

I blame mostly steam. But also bioware and ea. Some guy at bioware or/and ea should be able to call em up and tell steam something like:"Wtf is going on, why havent u released my game properly yet and dont even let costumers know when u will? U are giving us a bad name by doing so".

I would expect this from EA, even steam a bit, but not bioware. usually bioware provides great service imo. But i still blame them a little bit for this steam-release-error, or actually for not letting us know when we can expect to play the game.

" hopes someone from bioware reads this and will pickup the phone"

We sit here and restart, and wait, and restart... nothing is clear... somebody is posting that its tomorrow by a trailer . Ok , im fine with it, than i see the german homepage...my brother is already playing... and still NOTHING comes from steam

Its the same for me, I recall preordering half life 2 over steam when it was new and it went smooth without any hickups. Then again valve has a policy of releasing their games everywhere at the same time, something other developers really should pick up on :P

And yes most probably steam had an outbreak of headcrabs, now thier all zombies chasing scientists around the office :D
