Hi,
I installed Awakenings, all excited to play. However I can't import any of my characters. I have two and so does my husband.Two of them are completed files but it doesn't matter which one I select the 'x' to Import button won't highlight and won't work.
Anyone else with this? Is there something I need to do,like go into the files and take off all the DLC I'm wearing?

Unless that gear is from the RTO DLC, you can't take it with you.



So any items from shale, wardens keep, promo items etc, it may help if you take them off, then try.



I won't be getting mine until lata today or tommorrow, so let me know if you fixed it at all!

Hmm maybe I'll wait for another patch before I import, the DLC is some of the best stuff.



Then again I might grow too old before the next patch

we wouldn't want them wasting time and money fixing problems, now would we?

I can't import my characters either. I have characters of each origin story and not one of them will load.

Odd. I didn't have an issue importing my one and only character from DAO. FWIW, she wasn't equipped with any DLC that *couldn't* transfer, so maybe if your character has such goods equipped, it won't transfer?

Also, did you follow the instructions that came with the disc? It said to reinstall the patch that's on the disc before installing DAA itself. Maybe I'm pulling at straws here, but I'm just trying to help.

I'm working on removing and selling my DLC items. Might as well make some gold off them and transfer that. Other than that I've tried everything else.

they really should have allowed you to transfer all DLC content to awakening. why charge $7 for content (warden's keep) you won't allow people to continue using on future expansions?

Did yall say that if it wasnt from the RTO DLC that you couldnt take it with you? I still have my juggernaut armor, and Ogrehn has on the LOD armor. So I dont know how to fix the importing problem with the characters but some of the stuff that you had on in the original goes with you to awakening

If it was the other DLC content items ( Wardens Keep, Shale, Promo items etc) they can't come into origins with the exception of stuff from the DLC RTO.



The items you named Juggernaut and LOD armor are basic DA:O items so they can xfer no prob.



Helpful tips: Make sure you updated with the patch FIRST before you try playing/ installing awakening!



make sure that the charcter your trying to import is not equipped with any items from the Wardens Keep, Shale, or other promo DLC items.



If you have to, go back into origins and make sure your file/charcter your trying to Xfer into DA:A isn't wearing any of the "untransferable" items from the other DLCS.

After you select the character you have to select a save-game from his/her list.  At least, I had to.

And it was hilarious to see my character in the opening cutscene walking along the road in his underwear.  But it's disappointing that the dragon armor doesn't carry forward into Awakenings.

I was able to import my characters but lost a lot of items in the inventory as well as showed up in awakenings without any armor or clothes on, I had the armor from honnolith IIRC so that could be why
