Hi All,

I just got Awakening expansion and I'm having hard time importing my character from the Origins properly. I can import my character but my character only has shorts on him...otherwise he is completely naked. In the Origins game I had the bonus Dragon's Armor (Blood Dragon) Plate and Helmet. Now when I start Awakening expansion I don't have the Blood Dragon's Plate or the helmet in my inventory...what gives ?

Thanks!

PS: Please note that I had 1.3 patch installed for the original DAO game before I installed Awakening expansion...

Same for me seems none of my import gear transfers over with awakening.

From what I've seen none of the DLC gear survives the import but supposedly the Return to Ostagar equipment does survive the trip.

The only DLC gear that transfers is the RTO gear (though some have said that modded versions of Starfang and Warden Commanders armor transfer as well). Blood Dragon Armor is on the long list of items that do not transfer.

What the hell. Is this done on purpose, a bug that will never be fixed?

Now I don't know if I should play the game now, wait till this is fixed...

Well that's kind of strange...I wonder if this is done on purpose for the sake of game play balance. However otherwise it really doesn't make sense. I guess I'm gonna have to wear King's armor instead that I will find in return to Ostagar, I'm currently working on that part...

From other threads, this may more in fact be a "Bioware Competency" issue; also know as "Screw the players, we need to make our release date and we can fix issues that might ****** people off in a patch six months down the road, dispite the fact that the people who will be most pissed off about this are the same shmucks who pre-order all our games and play them on the first day of release."

LOL, I hope that's not the case...for me that would kind of defeat the purpose of DLC. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt...however I have to say I'm a bit surpirsed that I can't import my character with his armor...otherwise what's the point of import in the first place. Ah well...

They don't care; they have to make their release day or their EA masters will cut their bonuses; that's all that matters.

Ok so here another stupid thing then, fine so my Blood Dragon Armor is gone...but now after I finished RtO and I got the King armor (I was wearing it before I imported my character into Awakening), I can't seems to be able to wear it because I don't have Strength 42...WTF??!!! Well now I'm a bit unhappy since I don't have any other armor in possession so I'm still running around naked. I wonder if I should really play another game before these kind of silly things get resolved...

Its not a bug. Its intended. You should be able to play the game without effortless and overpowered DLC items.

Its doubtfull its intended. Why would they charge for items then not allow you to use them? Makes zero sense.

The problem is that I don't have armor in my inventory that I can wear when I start Awakening...this includes King's armor or the Blood Dragon's armor. Let's forget Blood Armor...I qualified for wearing King's armor at the end of Origins, why the heck I don't qualify anymore wearing this armor in the beginning of Awakening... Am I the only one experiencing this problem ?

Having the same problem as mentioned above and so are people on a couple other threads. If this was an overlooked problem it's pretty glaring considering a lot of people will be using DLC items on their characters. I finished playing the game and then bought Warden's Keep specifically so that I could use the armor and Starfang for the expansion. If it's true that Bioware is restricting which items you can port over, that's ridiculous.

Luckily, before installing the game I loaded up my last save and stripped all my party members of their gear because I assumed I was going to lose the majority of them along with the stuff they had on them. So at least I'm loaded up to the gills in armor and weapons. Other people could do this, save the game and then import from that file. Should solve your naked problem at least.

Pretty miffed at Bioware at the moment.

I guess there is something worse than standing naked facing horde of darkspawn....facing darkspawn that doesn't want to fight you LOL!

What class was your character in the Origins, what level were you and what if possible what armor level did you bring along to Awakening. Did you finish RtO in Origins before you proceeded to Awakening?

What armor were you wearing in Origins, and when you loaded up Awakening, I'm assuming you had the same armor on...

OK EVERYONE HATE TO DISSAPOINT BUT IF U GO TO BIOWARES WEBSITE FOR AWAKENING AND GO TO FAQS U WILL SEE ITS THE FOURTH OR FIFTH QUESTION TOWARD THE BOTTOM. BIOWARE SAYS THAT MOST ITEMS WILL IMPORT EXCEPT DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT AND ANY LOOT U MAY FIND IN THE DOWNLOADABLE AREAS. THESE ITEMS R MEANT FOR ORIGINS AND ONLY ORIGINS GAMEPLAY. NOW IF THEY DECIDE LATER TO FIX OR BETTER YET ALLOW US TO USE COOL WEAPONS LIKE STARFANG AND OTHERS I DONT KNOW IF THAT WILL HAPPEN. SO MY ONLY ADVISE IS TO EQUIP THE BEST POSIBLE NOT DOWNLOADEDABLE CONTENT ITEMS WEAPON AND AROMR BEFORE U IMPORT UR CHARCTER TO AWAKENING SO UR NOT NAKED.

It's really quite sad how many bugs and installation issues we all have been having. Such as not installing correctly, Patch 1.3 bugs or the dark spawn standing there stupidly. Whats worse is that if you attempt to contact BioWare they can offer no support. Makes you feel as if they did not even test this in advance. Sigh, looks like were the new tech support!

Wow, easy on the CAPS, where is this FAQ you are talking about...The King's Armor is NOT related only to Origins because I have it in my inventory when I start Awakening....however I can't put it on as I'm not strong enough (I need strength 42 but only have at the start 41), mind you I was strong enough at the end of Origins to wear the King's armor...so to me this qualifies as an issue (Fine I can live without Blood Armor...I won't argue there)

It's sad, it feels literally like a joke. How come you can't wear the stuff you payed for a couple of months ago? Come on BioWare you can do better than that... Yeah I bet my commander's armor is a game breaking item that will win Awakening without me playing through it /sarcasm. I guess I won't play the game for a while then. Between Mass Effect 2's Cerberus/DLC issues and this, I feel like a guinea pig...
