Bioware; get your **** together and let us use our Dragon Blood Armor.

I thought this was an "expansion."

You guys are lucky to even get your character in. I can't get mine to import. It says just click on the import selection and you are good to go but it says I don't even have DAO period!

Wow, they better fix that fast. I mean, I'm glad I had some stuff in my inventory I could use (Like, oh, MARRIC'S SWORD which is a RTO dlc item -- way to enforce that particular 'origins and origins alone' line of bull) but now I'm running around half-armed and half-armored.

Brilliant move there, Bioware.

Is anyone else having an issue with the game crashing when you try to import characters? I can get some of mine to import, but only if they don't have any DLC armor on.

Way to rip off the loyal customer! Why I am loyal is a question I will have to contemplate. Used to be I could depend on Bioware to make a solid game and rarely disappoint, now it is the other way around. I am going to be very cautious about buying anything with Bioware's name on it for now on.

Remembering a hack from the start of Baldur's Gate: Shadows of Amn, I denuded all my Origins characters, putting 110 items into my rucksack, then exported that into Awakening. Although only 80 or so items were ported over, I could clothe all four starting characters with stronger items, including some nice armour, amulets and rings not related to DAO DLC.

While I understand the balancing issue, that policy decision made the start of DAA look like comedy Machinima. Not sure that was the wisest decision Bioware.

My problem with import is that the journal entries are completely messed up. The max number of entries is multipled by 8, and only every 8th of them is filled... I play the spanish version, that might be the cause, but not sure.

Ok don't mind me, I saved, did quit the game, reloaded, and it repaired itself.

Reviving an old thread (for lack of finding another more appropriate) in regards to issues importing DA:O characters into DA:A. A seemingly new issue, for me at least, as I've had no trouble in the past. In fact, I've successfully done so at least 5 times since I originally purchased the game.

This past month, I had a wild notion to start playing DA from the beginning - Origins to DA II, including all expansions. So after beating DA:O with my new character, I attempted to import her to DA:A. As I was already aware that DLC armor cannot be imported (save the RtO gear), I switched out her gear before making my first attempt.

The first try, I wasn't very attentive. I selected the character by name immediately and hit OK before I even looked at what I was doing. Which left me completely puzzled to find a hairless, nude male character at the intro. The game froze as soon as combat was initiated. Restarting, I tried again, this time taking a careful look at the choices available for import. My latest character's name was there but it did not register her appearance. If I scrolled down to the character below, then back up, it would retain the look of the other character. I gave that a go anyway, and this time it loaded the second character's graphics, and promptly froze.

I have tried putting in Origins again, saving over, and even creating multiple saves for my newer character. It still does not register her at all and freezes immediately after the intro. (This is for the XBox 360, I should add) Does anyone know a fix for this? I'm more than a little frustrated to have played through Origins again specifically with the intent to import this character (both for DA:A and for storyline in DA II) only to have it glitch. :pinched:

EDIT: It is not recognizing this character for -any- expansion, so far as Origins is related. (WH/GoA) Even tried downloading the game to my hard-drive, in hopes that may help. Still no luck...

Unfortunately, this is a PC Tech Support forum now.  Instead, you'll have better success if you post in this forum:
