It's either that, or it is the next expansion to DAO. Until Bioware tells us which it is, we don't know, only that something is happening that day.Realmjumper wrote...
It's supposedly a release date for Dragonage 2. They are definitely cranking the midnight oil, 3 cheers for Bioware!

won't be that much better from a technical standpoint. We'll probably
just get a new story with new characters like Awakening. Not that that
is necessarily a bad thing though.

I'm not sure I like the quick turnaround on Dragon Age II. It means it won't be that much better from a technical standpoint. We'll probably just get a new story with new characters like Awakening. Not that that is necessarily a bad thing though.
Actually, I'd prefer if it wasn't too much better from a technical standpoint. I'm more concerned with using the same tech that's already in place, and using the development time mostly on content. The transition from BG1 to BG2 was staggering, and i'd like to see that happen again.

No it isn't a bad thing at all. Bioware turns out a very fine product and after spending a lot of money on crap games I don't mind further installments of DA at this level of production.
Agreed. Awakening is blowing me away.

After the Return to Ostagar fiasco I'm a little surprised they met their 3/16 target date.
+10 to BioWare

Just by having faith in your Bioware will not make the game any better. This is the first time I hear a developer releasing a sequel to an RPG (if that is the case) after only one year. Welcome to the world of EA. Personally, I hope this is the 2nd expansion, otherwise I will not be interested at all.chaosapiant wrote...
I can't imagine a full expansion coming out another year from now. EA has already stated that they plan to get DA2 out the door around that time. Hopefully it won't be rushed, but I have faith in my Bioware.

So what is exactly the difference between an "expansion" and version 2 of a game / program?
The difference is that the latter might render any modding efforts, not to mention the toolset, useless.

Any chance you can give us a general idea on when some info will likely be dropped or are we going to have to wait and get that info from some online store in the Czech Republic again.
P.S., "Soon" is not a general timeframe.
