I think it's even harder for the employee of bioware to keep the secret..I'm sure they're boiling inside and they want to scream it .But they can't ..

Make me wonder how they could keep diablo 3 has a secret (Blizzard) .. Has the game was in production for several years before they announced it at blizcon. There was some leaking there and here..

ROFL .. Did you know that the Nintendo headquarter in japan it's a fortress? They're frigging paranoid.

The true meaning of this it's...

You're to see suprez 30 nude and making a striptease.

So what is exactly the difference between an "expansion" and version 2 of a game / program?

An expansion requires a small team working on a relatively small budget and a rather limited amount of resources to work over a short period of time that is usually between 6 months and one year to expand on a project that has already been complete.

A sequel requires a large team working on a fairly big budget and a substantial amount of resources to work over a long period of time that is normally at least 3 years to produce a quality product from scratch.

So there is a big difference between an expansion and a sequel.

my guess is work on da2, if that is what 2/1/11 is, was started some time last year. by the time 2/1/11 comes around, it will probably have been 1.5+ years of work on the game. with an engine in place already, creating more games should be a much quicker turnaround. i'll keep my faith in bioware until ea proves otherwise.

All I want is for Bioware to give me a few months between DA2 and SWTOR . . . once they throw ME3 into the mix, I won't know what to play. But whatever they choose, it will be an awesome year for games.

It means that on that date the people of Ferelden will finally figure out how to use horses for transportation rather than running everywhere. This is the DA:O equivalent of the invention of the wheel. You should all be excited.

Wrong. It's the date the Circle of Magi use the DNA of a frog to bring back Gryphons from extinction. The gryphons are then housed behind electrified fence in Gryphon Park. Let's hope they don't escape and eat the tourists...

Well, I know what it is, but I think all I'll say is that this will be a pretty cool date for fans of Dragon Age.

Nice to know that it isn't just a misprint.
Perhaps if we have a quick collection we could pay one of the bioware employees to tell us? I'll start us off, I have £2.55 on me and I'll throw in the £10 watch I got from argos...

To those complaining about the turn around time, chances are that DA2 has been in development since at least March of 2009. The lore is in place, and the engine is in place. 2 years to make a game with existing tech and toolset should make for a fine game indeed. Again, please take a look at the difference between BG1 and 2. The turnaround time was about the same, and in between that included work on NWN and TOSC.

I think it will be the addition of online play into the game. I mean the rest of the game is setup like an MMO from the UI to the combat. I wouldn't be surprised if it is an expansion that adds online hubs to the game and the ability to form parties with other players to go out and quest with.

They're overhauling the engine, actually.  I think most people are concerned because they're owned by EA now and EA has a history of rushing out mediocre big name titles.

I hope not I'd rather like to keep the immersion.

During a call to investors, EA announced Dragon Age 2 and Dead Space 2 for 2011. Now which of the 2 is made by Bioware?

All they announced was a new Dragon Age title, not necessarily a direct sequel.  Could be a spin off or another expansion pack.

I am hoping we will have 2 more expansions out before that date comes. After all this is what 4 Months after the game released? So I figure 2 more $40 expansions before then that I will happily purchase.
