Hi all- I just started playing Awakening and noticed my DLC items haven't loaded onto my expansion game, specifically the harvest ring from the Shale dlc. Is there a way to fix this? I am logged in to the EA servers, I believe. Thank you.

The only dlc that transfers over is from RtO.

There is no officially supported fix. Some have reported various mods may make dlc items show up in Awakenings, but Bioware says this may or may not cause issues in Awakenings.

Bioware says they are investigating the feasibility of a patch at some future date

Oh that's so NICE OF THEM. I guess it's too much to ask that they behave in a competent manner and have fixed this BEFORE releasing the game.

The official word is that fixing this bug was lower priority to completing and polishing the new content, due to the assumption that all carryover gear (including dlc gear) would be quickly replaced by new and more powerful stuff.

All items transfer except for pre-order items, collector's edition items, items for Warden's Keep and Items from the Stone Prisoner.

So if you purchased a new collector's edition of Dragon Age and then shelled out even more money for Watcher's Keep you will lose a portion of your items. If you bought Dragon Age used or in a bargain bin all of your items will transfer.

Not that I'm bitter ...

Yeah, Bioware found a way to directly target their best customers for frustration. It's science really :)

Uggh! My imported  character is freaking naked! I could live with not having the kickass armor (I suppose) if I was given ANY freaking armor to wear! But no, I'm given a bra and panties in which to fight darkspawn! Why doesn't my freaking character just lie on the ground and let them take turns at her, FGS! This is ridiculous. /whining

I suppose they could've recreated the equipment in Awakening and then have the game check the BioWare/EA Profile or Gamertag for either the Master of the Peak achievement or just the DLC being downloaded, after which they would be unlocked in Awakening based on that. The former seems like the easiest the thing to do, although the latter would also allow for pre-order content to be transferred.

EXACTLY.  So much for the claim that Canadians are nice people.

As you said in your other post (and what I said in another thread), this is so annoying as it ticks off mostly their most loyal / obsessive customers.

So only the "Return to Ostagar" DLC items can be imported to "Awakening"? Well at least I get to keep my pimpin' gold armor.

isn't that lovely. the character i wanted to use first for awakening was using the dragonbone warden commanders armor and starfang, neither of which are transfering. any chance of getting a link to a 3rd party mod that might fix this?

pretty convenient that the people that shelled out extra money for wardens keep get the shaft.

I had alot ofmy stuff at Warden's Keep; however I hope there is an extra storage chest somewhere in Awakenings for the billion of things I carried to Howe's joint. Might end up most of it anyway - had 35 gold come over as well as a good nest egg for the future ;)

Ballz, I am swordless. You would think that incorporating content you had created prior would be fairly simple. Then again I am not a videogame designer so what do I know.

So, given that there is a release day mod that fixes this on the PC, one that listens to the license servers even, I have to agree.  How hard could it be to have an official fix to this?  Certainly cheaper than all the lost future sales this sort of negative user experience entails.

When there's an official patch to make my DLC work with Awakening...then I will buy Awakening. Not before.

Typical EA.

It's not a matter of stats. There are things you just want to keep.
In Oblivion I even used the mannequin mod and made a room full of puppets waering armor sets I liked.
In DAO I'm just not willing to give away all the Grey Warden stuff...

that would be pretty cool to have a whole room in Vigils Keep that showed off all your Wardens gear you had (like Bergon's helm, Effort/Duty).
I would never sell any any Grey Warden items. lol

Don't get me wrong, I want the my DLC as well, just wanted to note that it doesn't take long to get a decent weapon still not as good as what I had though. I wasn't in the habit of stockpiling extra weapons in my inventory. I assume others (not all) didn't keep extra either.

I've read a lot of unwarranted whining about Awakening on the forums lately, but this is some honest-to-god serious business. How am I supposed to fight the darkspawn when neither of my swords carried over into the expansion? It's ridiculous.

Almost some kind of breach of contract, for mine. Ostagar was ok, but the other DLC were kinda average and only made worthwhile, relatively speaking, imo, for the gear. Bottom line, I paid for that gear and I want it!! I created my characters around some of it! In any other scenario Bioware/EA might be looking at some kind of class action. If you pay for something it should be yours. I saw no disclaimer in the DLC descriptions that mentioned that items were for temporary use only.

Not buying the expansion until something's done about it.

And I am *not* a whiner usually, and till now have had great respect for Bioware.  Just feel ripped off, and the amount of money I paid for the DLC isn't at all the issue.  It's about my characters, and that I feel as though Bioware/EA has been dishonourable.  There may be technical issues.  If so fix them!
