The Official "Crap I wish I'd known sooner...." Thread....

I had such a moment 2 days ago. So, I figured I'd make this thread, and see who else falls into this area. Post your own "D'oh! Wish I'd known (insert something here) sooner!". Anyways, here's mine:
I sat there for almost 1 complete play through on one character, several partial play throughs on 2 other characters and a 50% play through on my current guy, without knowing (on the PC) that if you hit the TAB key, if showed you everything that was clickable. All those things that cost me insane amounts of time due to a bit of OCD on my part (seriously, according to Steam, I've logged over 120 hours into all my play sessions of DA:O) trying to get every codex/exp goodie possible.
So yes...the TAB key is my "D'oh!" moment. What's yours?

Darn that snake oil dealer! I didn't even persuade him into giving 2 G for resquing him the first couple of times. One thing is that you might want to temporarily sell stuff to him the first time you see them due to the inventory size, just to notice, they're gone the next time.
Methinks, he gives a discount at least compared to his prizes later in the game. I don't know, if it's related to finding out his backstory (needs coercion 2, I think).

When in Camp, look at the character's stats and on the right hand page near the bottom is a "Level Up" button that is enabled if that character can be leveled up. D'oh!1

(SPOILER) The fact that Mhairi dies in the beginning of Awakening (had I known, I would've gone back and taken her armor and weapons, which is what I did to the other 2 recruits from the beginning of origins).
You get her stuff back automatically -- even if it puts you over your inventory limit.

Others include leaving sten to die in Lothering.
Bringing a romanced alistair with me to kill the archdemon (seriously unexpected! I cried and then went back and made him sleep with morrigan. Ugh,,,hard choices....)
realizing that other conversations and quests open up with approval ratings.

Ditto on the leveling up in camp.
Did NOT know about Bodahn's prices until this post.
I knew I could remap keys, but didn't think to remap the ones that switch weapons sets and toggle run/walk until I'd played hours and hours. They're now more conveniently placed. (I'm a touch typist, and I want all mapped keys under my left hand while the right hand uses the mouse.)

For each playthrough I persuade him to tell my PC's about his past and he offer discount later on. I don't realize he won't offer discount if the backstory is not told.

I didn't know about hardening. Luckily I listened to Alistair and didn't make him King, so I avoided some heartache there lol
