That to gain the attack Acheivements for things like Assault or Whirlwhind, any party member kills count towards it. Do not know how many times I died trying to set up kills with Assualt.

I forgot one important thing: I just recently discovered that I could delay fighting the Desire demons on the 3rd and 4th floor in the Mage Tower until after I got the Litany of Adralla, which is super effective against these demons. That made those previously very hard fights a piece of cake.

What does it do? I always thought the litany´s effect was only against the scripted events in the fight against uldred...

It does massive damage (142 points in one single use) to the demons and the skeletons (on 4th floor). Strangely enough, since it is said to work against mind domination, the obsessed templar on the 4th floor is unaffected. But him alone is not very hard to fight. As a matter of fact, it also works against the demons and shades in the room right before meeting Cullen. I was also very surprised that the Litany worked in other fights apart from Uldred. It makes the mentioned fights infinitely easier.

Goodness - I've never heard of this, either.  That's quite a discovery, follis2!  I'll have to try it out next playthrough.  The hidden nuggets in this game seem truly never-ending.

Wow, am I the first one to discover it? It works on the Xbox at least. That's the version I am playing. You have to get as close as possible to the demon for maximum effect.

Lots of insanely good stuff in this thread, much of which I didn't know.

Mana Clash does serious damage to Shades and Ash Wraiths. For the longest time I only ever used it on Mages.

Shale isn't a weak Fighter with good dialog. She's a solid multiclassed Mage / Cleric, so long as you micro-manage her in combat or set up her tactics. Speaking of which...

Set up every character's Tactics, and remember that they check their actions in order. With tactics set up, characters who seem lame turn awesome.

Good point on tactics old book. My favorite is to have each character set to use a health poultice or lyrium potion when their health/mana gets low. That saved me quite a lot of micromanaging.

I also learned that with the exception of a very few locations in Ferelden, you can leave an area before completing the quest and get more supplies/sell more loot and then go back. This is especially helpful in the Deep Roads in Orzammar because it is such a long quest and you pick up so much loot. Going back to Orzammar in between major locales saved me doubling back due to full inventory or reverting to an old save due to running out of health poultices.

something I've just found out - you can get two backpacks when in Ostagar, both for 57s. Never knew that before. One before you head out into the wilds, and one after. Much cheaper than buying them afterwards :) gives you more space for the tower, too.

When you attach matching crystals to Shale, there is some sort of item set bonus.

When in the Deep Roads, you can use the World Map to return to camp. This beats making multiple trips back to Ruck.

When taking 4th tier Stealing, you may Pickpocket your opponent in battle, then still loot the corpse when you kill them. This is nice for those foes that are not always so friendly, and let you Steal before fights.

I didn't know that you can end the curse. I played my first three games killing the werewolves and feeling like crap about it because it just didn't seem right to me and then with my "evil" character I was going to side with the werewolves and that's how I found the "good" ending.

Reading this thread just cracked me up :lol:, I'm guilty of most of these things as well and I've learnt a couple of things like Sten's cage, to think that's the last time I will have to speak to that b*ch in the Chantry.

Now the confession I've done so many playthroughs I've lost count and only discovered yesterday by accident that there are 3 secret rooms in the Forest ruins...doh doesn't come close to how stupid I feel

Three secret doors? I've found one and thought that was it. I thought I was very thorough in my explorations, but apparently not.

There are definitely 3, now I'm wondering if there are some in the other ruins and maybe other places I've missed, I don't want to get paranoid about it, but still

Only now, after five playthroughs, do I realise there is a haste spell. All that time I was begging for my characters to go faster and I didn't even know that was there....

I am such an idiot.

I believe you! And I won't leave the ruins the next time until I've found them all.

Yes, in the royal palace. It's not the size of Flemeth or High Dragon, but still a dragon. I thought everyone but me knew about when I read about it here on the forum.

A small dragon in the throne room. You know those floor tiles that click when you walk on them? Put one character on each, then click the throne. Dragon fight.

DiatribeEQ - thank you so much for starting this thread and for everyone who has confessed their... doh moments.  I've just been zooming around by holding down both mouse buttons, what a difference :o the driving was a bit manic at first, but I've got the hang of it now, all I need is a Griffon

Next on the list is that dragon

I did not know about any clicking tiles but I wondered why the throne room was accessible but empty.

TY.

Whaaat!? There's a dragon in Orzammar??

lol, totally missed that, first thing im gonna do now, lol

Tab button I figured out about halfway through my first time, so only missed stuff in the beginning of the game.

That the Chasind Tale codex you get in the Kocari Wilds actually was a quest:P , wished i had known that earlier

In Awakening, that once you say you'll start attacking the darkspawn that you have to end it in 1 streak so you cant do the other quest in between..

I didn't know about the dragon in Orzammar. I always heard the weird sound when you step in places, but didn't put two and two together. (it's not like it's the only place in the game with steps like those)
