(SPOILER) The fact that Mhairi dies in the beginning of Awakening (had I known, I would've gone back and taken her armor and weapons, which is what I did to the other 2 recruits from the beginning of origins).

The fact that you actually get the armor and weapons from companions automatically when they leave the party for good. Noticed with the HNF when getting to Ostagar ("How the crap did I get Studded Leather? Wait. Wasn't Eleanor wearing those? ...Oh.")

Finally, I was annoyed to find out that I could get the key to the mage's chest from the prisoner

Ditto.

I also missed the tavern in Redcliffe first 2 playthroughs Duh!

The tavern in Redcliffe I missed during the first few characters due to not being able to look up while running along.

Fourtto.
And finally, to add one of my own, I had no idea unlocked specializations keep unlocked, even if you load a previous save game. Sheesh.
Also never heard of a dragon in Orzammar until browsing through this thread.

It took me a few play throughs before I realized I didn't have to deal with the money grubbing Chantry matron to get Sten. Boy did I feel stupid when I finally tried to just unlock the cage and it worked.

Doh! That would have helped me. lol

Item Set bonuses and the effects of sustainables like Spell Wisp and Spell Might sometimes turn themselves off when you go back to camp or go through a cut scene or area transition, even if the icons are still showing. Re-equiping the items or recasting the spells will fix it. Check them now and then. Would have saved myself some grief if I'd known that earlier.

Wow, am I the first one to discover it? It works on the Xbox at least. That's the version I am playing. You have to get as close as possible to the demon for maximum effect.

Alas, it doesn't do anything to demons in the PC version.Image IPB

That's weird! Could anyone else try it out on the Xbox and PS3? It definitely works for me on Xbox. I am trying to do a solo nightmare run and would probably have never made these fights without the Litany.

I wish I had known that Bodahn's inventory resets after you first set up camp right after Lothering. This means you could purchase a tome of arcane/physical technique(or anything else you might want, provided you have enough gold)leave camp, return and find that the item/items you purchased magically reappeared...

I wish I'd known how amazing Virulent Walking Bomb was when I played my first Arcane Warrior. It's quickly become my favorite spell.

I also wish I'd known about the chest and wooden crate stashed above the boat construction site in Redcliffe. Not a major thing, but as a completionist, the fact that I missed them on 3 different playthroughs annoys me to no end.

Follis2, just finished broken circle w/ my newest pc and can CONFIRM that the Litany of Adralla does in fact damage demons/wraiths/undead on the PS3 anyway. Thank you for this useful tid bit, as I am also trying my hand at a nightmare solo run.

Thanks for the confirmation! I was beginning to dobut my own sanity and think that I was just imagining things... Strange that it only works on consoles, though.

I wish I'd known earlier that Mana Clash works on Shades, Ash Wraiths, Arcane Horrors, Desire Demons, Rage Demons, and Abominations. I was just using it Mages.

The fact that you can compare items in a store to different characters by using the drop-down menu at the bottom of the list. I kept talking to a shopkeeper with a different character to compare all the options :-/ I think I made it through 60% of the game before I realized I could do that...

same i had that  exact same thing as well.

Kinda wish I had known that Storm of the Century is a tad larger in AoE than the couple of grey circles you use to place it. I mean, I like the spell effect, but would like my mages to actually LIVE to see it. I would hate it if my own last words were ACK!

Just this morning I discovered that one can really take advantage of the thieves met before entering Lothering via Coersion. Not only can one delay the attack (which I did know), but one can solicit funds, gather intel, then make them attack, cease fire, gather even nore funds, and then finish it and loot their bodies for even more needed shinies!

I just discovered that there is additionl dialogue for Allistair if one gets him before exploring Ostagar.

This game just keeps on giving....

Oh boy do I feel stupid .

I found out tonight that when you go into the Fade, once you have got the ability to shapeshift into the spirit form you can go back to the Weisshaupt Island and get the point off that gadget that you see when you first arrive.

You buy Schmooples from the idle dwarf in dust town. (the one that tells you not to fall into the sky) you have to have Leiliana in your group and she needs to have said that she wishes she could have one.

Til about two months ago, I didn't know that if you donate ..elfroot, deathroot, mushrooms, and other stuff ( in camp) to the recruited races in the build-up for the Final Battle....that you gain extra exps, sometimes a whole level depending how much gold and other stuff you donate at a time. This helped me achieve that elusive level 25 ..hehehe. So yeah, that was a doh! moment for me as well. :)

Also I make it a point to buy alot of mushrooms from Ruck, for use in Awakening, as there seems to be a shortage there for making stamina potions..just a heads up. :)

Untill 10 minutes ago i didn't knew you do NOT need to go to camp everytime you want to change partymembers. In some places you just have to click on the glowing party button on top of the HUD.

eight playthroughs and i never noticed that... ~grumblegrumblegrumble...~

Yup there is a place to do that in the Tower of the Magi, think you can only change out once though if its during the mission.   Tried to lose Wynne once, didn't work ...not there anyway hehe.

Can switch party members at Frostback Mountains,  Orzammar Commons and Diamond Quarter,  Lake Calenhad... Redcliffe Village, don't remember the other places, but those are the main ones.  :)

There are two places you can switch in the Tower - where you meet Wynne and where you get the Litany.  And in the Litany room, you can even swap Wynne out of the party, as I discovered by doing a "remove all."
