no, blood dragon plate doesn't carry over. bioware has said multiple times only RtO items carry over. geez:blush:

Yes those silly people dare to think just because they paid for DLC that they should be able to use it in the expansion hahaha those silly people. People shouldn't think for themselves, now excuse me well I go drive my Hybrid Vechile and take a sip of my latte well I go protest against my country since we hear in San Francisco know better then all you little people.

yep, it is a bug.

When you import a character from DAO into DAA it does a check. If your character is under lvl 18, you are bumped up to lvl 18, equipped with appropriately leveled weapons and armor and are ready to go. When you import a character that is lvl 18 or over, you do not get set to lvl 18 and equipped with items.

However, if you are over lvl 18 and import a character wearing DLC items that do not carry over (like the blood dragon armor for example), you are not getting the armor that under lvl 18 get. "Technically" this works correctly, but it just makes no sense and is definitely considered a bug.

The simple work around is to go into your saved game in Origins, switch to weapons/armor that are not DLC, save, then import that save into DAA.

Sorry to all the unintentional nudists out there.

I've decided to see just how much of the game I can complete this way.  The lol-factor of running nekkid through the countryside with a sign on my forehead stating the the tattoo I never possessed is no longer valid is encouraging me to reload when other bugs hit.  Unfortunately, the autosave for this character is corrupted and I'm not going all the way back to the Landsmeet to clothe her.  I'm rather glad this isn't a character I was particularly attached to.

Not that its your fault, but frankly its rediculous that this is even an issue.  What possible reason is there for some DLC items to not carry over?  I feel sorry for non-pc gamers who don't have access to mods to fix this rediculous situation.  I haven't even played Awakenings yet because I'm still in the middle of an Origins campaign, but if I had read these forums instead of relying on Eurogamer I never would have purchased the expac.

I dont get why people keep saying **** like " Bioware said this multiple times ". Where exactly did they say this? Did they say it the only place that it would matter ? ON THE BOX? nope. Not everyone reads every peice of new that comes out of Bioware, infact most of us do not. I was disapointed as hell to start my game with my badass mage trying to ****ing punch darkspawn instead of using her staff ( which made the opening very tedious and stupid ). I can't imagine you people really expect everyone to have read whatever dev chat or preview it was where they mentioned that DLC items wouldnt work. The only one I have found said that they didnt work at the time but they were working on fixing it before release ( this was after I bought the damn game ).

Neat idea!  I think this challenge mode needs a catchy name, though.

Rude Awakening?
Winning Streak?
Bare-spawn?
Exotic Import?
Romance THIS?
"I went to Warden's Keep and all I got were these smallclothes?"

Getting this tomorrow. Gonna miss my Warden Commander armour. Will have to swap it for Juggernaut or something. Hope there is some new sexy massive armour to make up for it.

Thank you , thank you, thank you. You didn't have to apologize, but just the fact that you acknowledged it goes a long way in my book. Hopefully it will be fixed in a patch, but I (and I think many others) appreciate you looking into it. Kudos, and I hope you didn't throw up corned beef hash this morning.

Here is one more "unintentional nudist" from wanting to wear commanders armor set in Awakening. I hope it will get fixed soon. Even though it looks very funny to run around in panties. HAHA.

You know Chris, it's great you posted this and acknowledged it's a bug.
But seriously... how could a bug like this not get caught?
It's obviously repeatable... it happens to everyone.
Origins gave trophies for hitting level 20, so it was likely you would have characters importing that were over level 18.... and it seems reasonable to assume some of those characters might have dlc gear.
So... if this bug gets missed.... and it is the First Thing You See In The Game.... then how extensive could the bug testing possibly have been?
At the very least are you folks embarrassed by this?

Does suck that items don't port over from DLC, but oh well. There are a lot of great items in the expansion. What I did was went back to my original game and stripped everyone of everything. Gave the best 'original' gear to my main character and sold EVERYTHING else that I had (such as the other chars gear etc.) This put me in expansion with the best gear I could get and a buttload of cash.

Any chance that since you've gotta fix one bug already... you'll fix the DLC bug generally?  Then you can skip this whole gear check nonsense!

ROFLMAO same thing happened to my Cousland girl wearing the Warden armor in my last save. As I had Cailan's armor in my inventory I just tossed that on but was hilarious seeing her walk along the road with Mairi in nothing but her small clothes and the helm of Honnleath.

Some DLC transfers. Plus there is some really nice things in Awakenings (I won't say more cause it spoils) so you won't need DLC stuff long.

One more time: No, I don't think it's true.  When I imported my rogue, I had the same stats as I ended with in Origins.  That includes the bonuses from the Fade and the Collector's Grimoire of the Frozen Wastes.  I didn't lose a single point.  I did have the unofficial PC patch installed to keep all my DLC items but I don't think that affects my base stats.

Respec though is probably a different story.  Haven't tried it yet.
