Since they locked down my thread:

Upon seeing there new commander approaching Vigil's Keep in his underwear a soldier approaches the warden commander , "Warden Commander, why on earth are you not wearing armor let alone anything but your knickers?"

The warden Commander strikes a heroic pose, "Becasue I am that awesome!" he declares adding, "And I enjoy the feeling of the cool breeze as I cleave Darkspawn skulls in two!"

The soldier gets a sinking feeling in his gut, "We are doomed."

The Warden Commander still striking his heroic pose gives the soldier a thumbs up, "Yes you are," suddenly something in the feilds surrounding the Keep catches the Warden Commanders eye, "Oh are those tiger lillies they are my favorite!"

The Warden Commander then prances off into field picking flowers and placing them in his hair as he goes.

Confirmed - Any stat increases you get from books or from objects like the fonts in The Fade in Sloths Nightmare in circle tower do not carry over.[/quote]

Don't think that's right either, my human noble fighter imported with the same stats she ended DA:O with. I loaded up the DA:O final save again to confirm.

Would had been interesting to have this communicated "multiple times" when I actually bought the DLC, not months after.

I never liked too much Blood Armour but how it is possible that item is supported in TWO GAMES but not in an expansion? And WHY?

I would like to know what is really being carried over ? I am not talking about the dlc.

Like, if money is going to be imported ?

You keep any money and items (only from DA:O and RTO as far as I can tell) equipped on your PC or in your inventory. Anything equipped on the original party members doesn't transfer, other than for returning party members (and they seem to have the same restrictions as your PC).

I was using the natural bodies mod and BOY was that a surprise, marching into the Keep as buck naked and stiff as a board next to my very much dressed female assistant. LOL.

I am sorry about this, but I can't stop laughing.

The blight was defeated and the brave grey warden- SAVIOR of Ferelden and destroyer of the Archdemon was sent to rebuild Vigil's Keep. In their underpants?

Me too, I completed the whole opening in nothing but my skivies!
Somehow I managed to hold onto Duncan's Sword though, didn't think that was meant to transfer.

Also why do my Powers of Blood not work?  They were supposed to transfer, they appear in my skills list but have no description and the title says class unknown.

Came here looking for this answer. Where did it say they were supposed to import? Dark Sustenance is well useful, and I could do with it back... At the moment, activating it causes my character to rise into the air as if she was casting it, but no blood flows out, and no mana is gained.

all the modded armor, weapons and accessories I used in origins made it into awakening!

yep, it is a bug.

When you import a character from DAO into DAA it does a check. If your character is under lvl 18, you are bumped up to lvl 18, equipped with appropriately leveled weapons and armor and are ready to go. When you import a character that is lvl 18 or over, you do not get set to lvl 18 and equipped with items.

However, if you are over lvl 18 and import a character wearing DLC items that do not carry over (like the blood dragon armor for example), you are not getting the armor that under lvl 18 get. "Technically" this works correctly, but it just makes no sense and is definitely considered a bug.

The simple work around is to go into your saved game in Origins, switch to weapons/armor that are not DLC, save, then import that save into DAA.

Sorry to all the unintentional nudists out there.

Wow, how unnecessarily complicated.
You could have just let everything carry over and made sure that there were some upgrades so that we ditched that stuff ASAP.
If you're recommending that we load a previous save and change to non-DLC items, you could at least post a link to what items are from DLC for those of us that might not remember.
Guess I'll go and see if my "Post Coronation" save loads and lets me go to the keep to get some other items then. Last time it was just dumping me to the title screen. Thanks for that too! :/

Why are the commander armor and similar not transferred? I heard something about it, that they are not "fully carried". It would be interesting just to know why it is like this.

I'm not going to play until this is fixed. I'm such a roleplayer and this completely shatters my immersion.

This stuff is so broken.

So, after finally sorting out gear on the person I want to import, it fails to use that save-game and instead imports the character from the save game below it. Then after the Awakening intro, it crashes the xbox.

Great testing you've done there, really.

Gang ...

Looks like Stone Prisoner & RtO DlC items transfer (not Shale though). The Blood armor and the Warden's Keep items don't. That includes Power of Blood.

It seems most custom mod items do transfer, it depends on the mod. I found the Shadow Staff & Robe from Immodil's mod didn't.

On the skivvies issue: still think someone should do a mod that does one of the following:

a) drops some base gear on you at game start to replace what's lost

or

B) puts a merchant right where you start & meet Mhairi that just so happens to sell emergency replacement gear.

i had the mod which makes DLC items transferrable (seriously, bioware, you can't make patches like that to the DLC to make it work?). For some reason however my warden had some bow equipped (which i didn't even own before) instead of starfang. oh well.

anyway, i bet she would have slaughtered those darkspawn in underwear and unarmed.(heck, even without arms! nor legs! :P)

Who needs any DLC items when we have these? http://bit.ly/aXCQzz

And with them we can do this? (sorry, got carried away with my dead char, my big movie star, reborn from scratch going thru DA:O in prep for Awakening, which I'm afraid is still quite some hours away since I'm a maniac that has to to every little quest, open every little chest, gather every little plant... and thus haven't made it to the Landsmeet yet! =)

Did you use the advanced option that lets you pick the actual savegame to import or did you just pick the character from the list?
