So, I know that you can copy a PC saved file to play on a Mac, and I was wondering if the reverse is true. Can you just take one of the saved files from a Mac and play on a PC version of the game? How does this work with DLC, etc?
I guess you can all figure out why I'm asking.

I believe you can copy your saved characters from a Mac to a PC

You basically only have to copy over the ~/Documents/Bioware folder to the corresponding Windows location (My Documents). That covers both the characters and the DLC.

You can, I just did it this morning. Just copy your Characters folder.

Cool. I am weak and foresee bootcamp in my future (as much as I would like to resist) so I can play Awakening. (sigh...c'mon transgaming.)

That's exactly why I did it this morning
Not to mention to play an actual updated version of DAO with higher video settings than the Mac version.

Oh, so you can get better video quality with the PC version, even running on the same hardware? Did you get the download or the disc?

And what windows version are you running? I only have XP.

I bought the download from D2D. High settings without AA runs acceptably (for me) on my early '08 MacBook Pro with XP. Under OSX, I run medium settings with no AA since it gets too choppy on high. We'll see if that still holds true when I install Windows 7 HP this evening.
