I've installed the game, but yet when I boot up Dragon Age I do not have the option to select Other campaigns, and if I go to New Game I can't choose to start a new game for Awakening.

I suspect that perhaps since my game is saved to a different drive than would usually be chosen, that it may have mistaken something when patching? Though for the instalation of Awakening it does install automatically to the location of my Dragon age.

I also think that maybe the patch to 1.3 did not work? If it didn't would awakening still show up normally? How can I tell which version my dragon age is?

Also, after an instalation of Dragon Age Awakening, on the screen that has the whole, boot up DA:Awakening and Open readme ticked, and than click finish, if I do the game does not launch.

Same issues here. I can play Origins, I see no sign that it has been updated with the Awakenings expansion. As above I have both games installed to my D: drive rather than the default, I do have my save games in the proper place on my C: drive as I can play those if I choose.

I think this is a problem with the game and not with your installation folders actually. The installer for Awakening probably looks for certain keys in your system registry anyways which would be there no matter where you installed the game files.

I got the Steam version of both the original and awakening so they are both in the same folder.

I'm having the same problem. I thought that associating my Awakening key with my bioware account would make it appear next time I logged on but no such luck.

I'm having the same problem as well with the steam version, I figured it was bug with the game, but where it says Other campaigns which I can not select either.

I believe the third poster in http://social.biowar...8/index/1752926 may be onto something. As I stated there, if I try and run the DAO_UpdateAddinsXml.Exe it simply does not work. If this addon is the one that controls access to Awakening, than the lack of it's function would deffinatly mean it wont work.

I was having this issue, and found out I hadn't ACTUALLY installed awakenings. It did a whole long install process, but the final screen said "Failed to install awakenings".

We are currently trying to diagnose what's going on in this thread:

http://social.biowar...8/index/1721221

I say "we", it's not like I work for Bioware or anything, it just happened to me and I was unable to explain it so I felt like coming back to the boards to tell people what was up.

(So far the solution has been to run the setup.exe in Windows 2000 compatibility mode)

I received no such message. The installtion appeares to go over prefectly, no issues bumps or failures.

At the end of the installation process I had a splash screen with two checkboxes, one that said 'Play Now' and one that said 'View Readme' both of which I left unchecked and closed the splash because I had some other tasks to finish up before I played.

I got mine working after using the DAO_UpdateAddinsXml_Steam. After running that file I went into the properties on Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening and validated the files. This found a few corrupted files and corrected it. "Other Campaigns" now lights up for me and Awakening now works for me also.

To validate game files:
1. Right-click on Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening and select properties.
2. Select the Local files tab that is the third tab from the left.
3. Select Verify integrity of game cache. (Note: This may take longer if you are doing other things on the computer that uses the CPU heavily.)

Not showing up for me either as an option no matter what I do. It showed as installed correctly.

heck, Origins will not even run unless the Awakening disc is used. It says it cannot find the disc for Origins but works fine with the Awakening disc. this pretty much tells me (aside from seeing the files in the folder under Origins) that it installed. Vista. Tried as admin and not admin. Bunk. :(

I am having the same problem as the OP. I would really like to try the above fix, but I have no idea how to do step 1. I have no file or folder in my computer that I can find with that name. Any help would be fantastic.

His fix only works if you use Steam to run DA. Right click DA - Awakenings under games menu in the Steam App, and click properties. Click the Local Files Tab, then verify the files. Steam will correct any files that are corrupted or missing.

I'm having a similar problem. My family computer has multiple accounts. Awakening works on our main account, but it doesn't work on the other accounts. On the other accounts we (by "we", I mean my household) have the "Other Campaigns" option in the main menu, but it's greyed out so we can't click on it and the Awakening option isn't in the New Game screen like it says in the manual.Would Jagdpanther22's solution work here too?

Awakening is a DLC for Dragon Age and can only be used when you are logged in Dragon Age with the account on which you register it.

We managed to get the Lucky Stone item on our accounts. Is that the same thing or is it different from Awakening?

The Lucky Stone is not a real DLC but an addin item for DA:O. Awakening is a real DLC.

I just have one more question. Could I uninstall Awakening and then re-install it to a different account on our computer without it messing with our Origins saves (we didn't start a save game on Awakening yet)?

I'm really not sure of this. There is a "Remove registration" option when you select Games > Dragon Age Origins > Register Game (top menu from your account home page) but I do not know if you can then register Awakening on another account. Maybe you should first contact EA Customer Support before going any further...
