I'm trying to bring an all alien crew into Mordin's recruitment quest since I brought Grunt once and got interesting dialogue about his status.
Would the game trigger the collector mission before I get Mordin?
How many recruits befor the first collector mission?

Disabled Collector Vessel requires 5 missions (recruitment or loyalty) and a minimum of 8 squadmates.
All the characters are voiced for Mordin's Recruitment mission, though:
Quarantine Zone
Plague Reactions
Mordin Cure
