Will the hunt for Balak carry over into ME2?

In the dialogue it kind of implies that Shepard would keep hunting him after the "main plot" mission was over, and it would be great to see some completion.

If infiltrating the Batarian Homeworld or searching for the Leviathian of Dis becomes a part of the main mission, I could see Balak having an effect on that mission.Guardian4379 wrote...
I was wondering, since there was an option to let him go in the "Bringing Down the Sky" DLC from the original game, can we expect to see a DLC that allows for an final confrontation with him, or possibly even finding out who he answers to?

Actually, it might make for an interesting spinoff for a different lead character. Shepard has the Reapers to deal with.

I was dissapointed with the lack of closure on theBalak situation and I hope that problem is resolved in dlc or ME3
If you'd have done your duty as a Spectre you'd already have closure.

Nah, we still got those other lunatics who launched the missiles at the human colony. It would have been nice to maybe run into Charn if you let him leave. That's another thing: paragons always let Balak escape, which means he's going to find Lt. Charn and skin him alive, then sell his hide out of spite.

I personally would like to see him again to finish him off..... or maybe, Enkindlers forbid, he becomes a squaddie for some reason.

Just replace him with random batarian terrorist #1032

I think that only happens if you leave him alive for the Alliance; let him go and, if memory serves, the news mentions the Alliance trying to track him down.binaryemperor wrote...
some people claimed to have heard news reports in ME2 that Balak was captured and executed if you did not kill him yourself.

If you let him go he is still at large and causing alot of damage. If you killed him or gave him to the Allience you hear about Kates dad holding a vigil for the dead of the incident. Never heard anything about Balak tho. The safest way is to just kill him, sacerfice three people to save millions.

Charn doesn't have to worry about Balak in my game, i killed him myself and carved out his eyes as a trophy. He followed Balak expecting to just bag a few slaves and my Colonial Shepard doesn't like batarian slavers.
I was kinda hoping that Javelin Missle mission would tie into BDtS, something like if Balak is alive then you find a message where he "thanks" Shepard for letting him live.

The fact that Bring Down the Sky was DLC and that Balak could either wind up in prison or dead according to your choices makes me skeptical he'll play a major part any more. I could see a DLC mission revolving around Batarian terrorists where he shows up if you import a save where he escapes (or maybe as a prisoner if you took him in); but if you don't have an imported save he's replaced by some other Batarian in the same manner that Wrex is replaced by his brother if you get him killed on Virmire.
He was not imprisoned!!! He was either dead or let go to save the hostages!!! The only thing so far was a news cast from letting him go saying he is still at large.
I hope another DLC would pick up the Batarians activities, or maybe have them be a "helper" race to the Reapers in ME3.

I'm half expecting a DLC to pick up where BDtS left off, regardless of whether Balak lived or died. He implies there's a revolution starting. So either it's hunting him down or hunting down whoever is leading the revolution.

I'm getting the feeling that Jacob's operation in Galaxy is the event that Balak foreshadowed. If that's the case, it's such a missed opportunity.
